Traveling as Couple
this is historic Madrid, and worth the trade off!
Close to a subway stop (definitely a plus if coming to and from the airport). Historic squares all within close walking distance. Within walking of just about any museum you'd want to hit in Madrid. Very clean modern rooms, comfy beds, reception desk is very helpful and knowledgeable, and most speak Spanish and English. Tiny elevator, so be warned. Great value for the money, we enjoyed our stay, and walked every day to all the sights and arts we wanted to see, and never used a single taxi. Very centrally located in the historic side of Madrid. Have the reception desk get you a reservation at the Botin restaurant in Mayor square. It's the oldest restaurant in the world (1725ad, according to guineas book of world records), and is only about a 1/4 mile from hotel. We loved it! ...read more
