When I arrived a had to wait while front desk staff talked with other hotel staff (customer came 2nd/3rd). I asked for smoking room and was put in a non-smoking room. I went back to front desk and they said I could some in it. I guess since there were MANY cigarette burns in the carpet. The bathroom was SMALL and barely usable. The room smelled musty with a layer of cigarette smoke. The staff was nice but seemed untrained in understanding how to put customer first and making them feel important. ...read more

I was not looking for anything nice; just a place to stay while visiting for the weekend. It was better than I had expected. Nice room. Hot water took a little while to come out but it did. I thought it wouldn't. No alarm clock in room. ...read more

We arrived late in the evening, the front desk clerk was not very professional, and the hotel was being remodeled. After almost 4 hours, being shuffled from room to room because of various problems, (no heat, broken plumbing and other issues) and countless trips up and down the stairs with our luggage, we were given a room in the part of the hotel which was almost finished. That room was pretty nice. I guess when they're done remodeling; the place will be fairly nice. This hotel is not handicapped accessible!\ ...read more

The staff was exceptionally pleasant and went out of their way to make my son and I feel "at home". When we arrived at O'Hare it was almost 9 pm. The hotel shuttle driver was off duty, so the hotel owner called a cab for us. The staff also helped with finding the right trains/buses to get us around the city. Pretty basic accommodations, but definitely a good experience. I would gladly stay there again. ...read more

The hotel was very close to nearby restaurants as well as a supermarket within walking distance. The hotel staff was very friendly and laid back, the manager was icy chill and drove us himself to the airport. The facilities were more than adequate and the toilet flushed like thunder. ...read more

This hotel is a case of get what you pay for in a positive sense. It's located somewhat between downtown Chicago and O'Hare, I needed downtown and found it workable if not convenient. The room was clean and comfortable, pretty basic; the staff was polite and helpful, if not zealous. I would highly recommend the Econolodge if you need a low price place to stay for a little while, it's not luxury, but safe, clean, and all around decent. ...read more

This hotel was horrible. It was in a bad neighborhood. We were questioned and our car was searched! It was a horrible experience! Then, our room was extremely dirty! Wet towels were on the bed, the sink and bathtub were both filthy! Just horrible! ...read more
