Area Information
The Brenzone community is made up of 16 zones of significant size, situated partly on the lakeside and partly on the initial slopes of Monte Baldo. A little higher up is Campo, a medieval township which is nowadays uninhabited, and then Prada on the mountain itself. About 30 years ago Castelletto suddenly became famous thanks to the discovery, during road construction, of a rocky mass of around 2 cubic metres with rock carvings. These carvings go back approximately 4,550 years indicating the use of tools and weapons in bronze as well as the importance of the sun in religion. The Castelletto Stone is today housed in the Brenzone municipality.
