Today, thanks to a 100USD million renovation project, the Sahara has recaptured its original Splendor. A 950 seat Sahara Theater. The 75,000-square-foot NASCAR Cafe, including the fast pace excitement of the virtual reality race car attraction, Cyber Speedway, and exciting new state-of-the-art roller coaster, Speed the Ride opened in early 2000. With 50 years of Las Vegas history, the Sahara has hosted many of the era's most celebrated performers including Ann-Margret, Johnny Carson, Tina Turner and in 1967 it was the Sahara that brought the Beatles to Las Vegas. "We were not expecting much and that is exactly what we got" state gamblers of this "vintage Vegas" spot that's "one of the older hotels on the strip"; enjoy "easy access" to the monorail or Deuce bus, a plus since there's "not much to entice you to stay on the property": the staff vacillates between "friendly" and "difficult", "the buffet quality is not good" and the "shabby", "outdated" rooms have "seen better days."

It's in Vegas.

Convenient location.
Room service not consistent. Skipped room cleaning on 1 occasion with no notice or explanation.

Overall hotel is OK. Some of the room furniture is not in the best of condition, but nothing that is crucial.

The price was good.
Carpet had black stains and the
shower had melody.

Hotel is just very old and had not had a face lift.

The rooms were quiet. Couldn't hear neighbors!
Was in need of windows cleaned and dusting.

It was a bit of a ways from the strip. Older, but overall it was good room for the price.

When my husband and I arrived at the hotel we were both suprised at what we got it was great we loved it and we will go back.
Other than the $6 service charge and the hotel being at the end of the strip everything else was great for us.

After attending our eldest son's wedding in Los Angeles I booked the hotel on priceline for my husbands birthday and we were very pleased with our stay, the location is a bit far, we took the double decker to the main strip and then enjoyed the walk back to the hotel (we hadn't realized that we had walked that far back) ...read more
