Overview of Hotel Ariele

The hotel was built over 2 time periods. The 1st part of the residence was built from an old tower dating back to 1400, the 2nd from a prestigious palace built in 1700.When Florence was the capital of Italy, at the end of 1800, the whole hotel was renovated by the famous architect Giuseppe Poggi, designer of Piazzale Michelangelo.In the past, the building has been home to various embassies and the residence of a number of famous Florentine families, including the Arcangeli of Strozzavolpe. Later transformed into a hotel, the building still maintains the style and atmosphere of an old noble Florentine home.
