Overview of Idyllwild Inn

The earliest visitors to the Idyllwild Inn arrived by horse and buggy. Located in the heart of the village that has grown up around it, the mountain's first inn has maintained the historic feel of its cabins and theme rooms, some of which date back as far as 1910. All have great fireplaces, some with mantels hand-carved by the sculptor of Idyllwild's famous tree monument. From a single room to a 3-bedroom cabin, you'll find a comfortable, secluded hideaway here at the original Idyllwild Inn.

• " There are single rooms in wings of the hotel that share a wood planked front porch and stairs. This can make these rooms noisy as you will hear others moving about. The rooms were very quaint and clean. There is no air conditioning in the rooms but the climate tends to be cool enough that you may not need it (unfortunately, I was there in July and it was over 100 degrees in Idyllwild). The cabins are more private and quiet. The cabins consist of a sitting room, kitchenette and bedroom. The TV is located in the sitting room (no watching TV in bed unless you use the roll-out sofa bed in the sitting room). <BR/> "
