Overall a nice location, quiet and with excellent views. Too bad I was working and couldn't enjoy it to the fullest.

The lobby, pool, staff and restaurants were comparable to other 4 star hotels. However, the room itself was closer to a 2 star hotel with dated décor and broken facilities. The hotel staff seemed very friendly and gave us a tour of the common areas upon check in. The doorman drove us across the street to the beach and gave our son some sand toys to play with. The room was clean with a view of the bay but it was a bit dated and had a musty smell to it. You could tell that there may have been water damage or a mold problem by looking at the stains on the ceiling in the bedroom. The patio door had a serious flaking paint problem; staying with small children I hope that it was not lead based given the age of the hotel. The tub drain was slow; I had to shower in 1ft of dirty tub water each morning. When I reported the problem to the front desk they acted concerned and sent someone immediately up to fix it, but they never actually did anything to fix the problem. The thermostat on the air conditioning did not work. The AC was stuck on full the entire time we were there. We had to turn the AC completely off if we wanted to raise the room temperature. It really made it difficult to sleep because the room was either too hot if the AC was off or too cold with the AC on. The bed was nice with good sheets and comforters, the bath had a new counter top.

Very pleasant stay. Room was close to exit and pool. It was noisy at night. Staff was exceptionally pleasant.

My husband and I would stay here again and recommend it to others we know. We were "upgraded" to the premier level because they did not have any king beds left and while it had a great view, turn down service and a free newspaper, the floor lamp stand finish was pitted and rusty and the bathroom needed a good grout cleaning. The staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. Despite the asthetics, I would definately recommend this hotel.
