I didn't have high expectations for this hotel considering it's in Winona. Overall it was clean and the staff was very friendly. They offer a nice hot breakfast (Belgium waffles you make yourself) and a nice assortment of cereals, bagels, English muffins and fruit. The pool was nice for the kids, wasn't quite as warm as they wanted, but it was 35 degrees out, so it was still nice. The one complaint that I would have is that the hotel did not share with me that there was a wedding reception in the banquet room and we all had to lay in the dark listening to the bass of the music until 11:30 p.m. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing a moderate place to stay for a night or two. Plus it's right next door to target and a Perkins restaurant.

It is a nice clean hotel with good amenities. It is a little hard to actually get to from the main street although you can see it a ways off. At the base of Sugar loaf bluff, it has some amazing scenery! The staff was typical of most one or two star hotels. Some hot and some cold in personality. If you bring kids, the pool is about the only entertainment. It is a nice pool however and the hot tub will not disappoint. I recommend going in the summer months as this is a college town. Things can be a little crazy at other times.

Overall, this hotel was a good; however, the reason we booked this particular hotel was its swimming pool - we were traveling with a 5 year old. The pool area was nice and clean, with a hot tub and seating areas, the pool was freezing. Our 5 year old was a trooper, but it was so cold that it was uncomfortable!

With the exception of the rude clerk the over all experience was pleasant and will consider staying at the motel again while visiting our daughter enrolled at Winona.
