The staff esp. the maids were great and made up for the poor quality of room - my daughter had dental surgery and I came up to take care of her that night and we stayed here - do not think I will stay in another Econolodge ever again.

Well lets just say I had to sit in the lobby for 20mins so many people checking in and only one person behind counter. Room was ok limited towels no shampoo; no remote (was told that some people take them home so I was out of luck. After some begging and pleading I was allowed to get a key and check room next door to mine) had to ask for phone to be turned on even 911 services was off. Finally got a remote for TV in room next door. Had to clean off air filter in room as it was black and smelly ran it under sink for a few minutes. Got bored at night so I sat and counted burn holes in blankets. Fell asleep around 25 or so. Found a nice pair of dirty socks on the floor next to bed ugh!

As a regular business and leisure traveler, I stay at a variety of motels and hotels. I have unfortunately gotten used to motels that are run-down and even unclean, with uncaring, rude, non-American staff and owners at this price level. - So this motel was a very pleasant surprise. It is not the tag meal, but for the price, it was more than acceptable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The desk clerks, two American girls, printed out a map to direct me to local places I needed to find. - The landscaping was maintained and attractive, and the parking lots/sidewalks were free of debris/cigarette butts, etc. In the room, there were actually fitted sheets on the bed. I don't remember the last time I saw that at an inexpensive motel. The room was clean. They could fix a few things (the phone didn't work, and I thought the shower head needed replacing.) Amenities included a heated indoor pool (which was being used by a mom with her kids), and a small exercise and workout facility. There was fresh coffee in the lobby whenever I went in there, and there are 24-hour restaurants right in the area. - When I am on the road, I am happy just to find a clean bed and responsive staff. This place turned out to be one of the nicest, for its price and star level that I have seen. I felt safe here and would stay again if I needed to be in Florence for an extended visit.

The sheets were stained, couldn't get the shower to work, the carpet was so dirty it made your feet dirty and there was a sewage smell in the room. I would never take this level room again and I must have not done something correctly as I like at least two one half stars. .

This is an OK hotel if you are really trying not to spend too much, but I suggest looking around more if you have the time to see if there is something nicer.
