Hotel Guest Reviews of the Howard Johnson Inn - Cincinnati
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.May 6, 2013

There were no lights besides my bathroom, all the other lightbulbs were blown out. The night staff tried to sell me knock off handbags =/ (no joke) The hotel distance from the cincy zoo is actually over 30 minutes away not less than 10 miles like it was posted. (which is the only reason I booked this hotel). Could not give me a receipt at the desk because I booked online? Never heard of such thing before! But it was
XXX bucks and just wanted to sleep so not a big deal. Hotel did have secruity cameras in the parking lot (whether they are constantly recording and monitored is a different story... But this is not a Howard Johnson I am use to... qualty was like a -5 compared to a "usual howard johnsons" ...

Was located excellently near major highways and central to much of Cincinnati. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent value for the room rate.

If you don't care about the looks of a place and are just interested in cheap, it works for a short term. Wouldn't stay here for an extended trip though. Breakfast was okay, although the orange juice had a nasty taste to it. The fridge was nice and worked well.

They are in the process of remodeling so I hope they get things done soon. It could be a really nice place if it was fixed up. The staff were very friendly and accomodating.

It was an older hotel. Renovations were half done; some rooms were still being worked on. The floors were filthy from the mess. Our first room had dirty sheets and a musty smell. Our second room had tape on the toilet and bathroom floor (from painting) and paint spatters on the mirror (made you think it was dirty) as well as on the floor and key card lock. The refrigerator was moldy and took up half of the desk, making it unusable. The desk and drawers were dirty and dusty. When we arrived, the pool was closed. There was a party in the conference room two nights which made us have to walk the long way to get to our room. However, we didn't hear too much noise. The employees were kind, but it took over half an hour to get checked in. An ashtray was in our "non-smoking" room. The continental breakfast was very slim: instant oatmeal, muffins, juice (when the machine was working), and bagels. When I asked an employee for the breakfast times, he was 2 hours off. If it weren't for refundable payment, we would have found another hotel! I was grateful for Clorox wipes! ...

AC not working properly, no maid service, room smelt bad, ice maker broken, and hotel rundown.
The first room we got the bathroom door did not shut. The staff then gave us another room. In this room the thermostat for the AC didn't work properly and was told by maintenance person that all the rooms are pretty much like that. We received no maid service even after we told the staff and they said they would send someone to clean the room and give us fresh towels. The ice machine was broken. Breaker panel doors in the hallway were open and commutations equipment was hanging from the ceiling. Both rooms were dirty and smelt bad.
