Hotel Guest Reviews of the Howard Johnson Inn Fort Erie

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location
Except for the bathroom, it was a dump

The location is good if you want to be in Ft Erie. The hotel is a dump outside and very dated inside. Weather stripping hanging off the door, bedspreads, instead of comforters that have covers changed daily. Old lampshades, drapes, dimly lit. Just very tired and desparatly needs a makeover, even for a 2 star.

It had a good location. Near highway access and the peace bridge to Buffalo.
It was in a bit of a mess and in a older building.

Good place near the river with good views and walking distance of trails and old fort Eire. Quiet at night. As I had mentioned before it was dingy and the some of the staff was not helpful in their attentiveness to their tasks. The breakfast selection was poor and not always in working order.

Nothing.
Only 2 small pillows, the continental breakfast set up was a laugh. It looks like a run down dump.
Although the room although dated seemed clean.

Staff were very helpful and nice.
When the hotel was full our second night there was a lot of noise from other guests. Rooms aren't soundproof.

This is the second time, I've stayed at this hotel and it was just as wonderful as the first time. It is not a five star resort, but the beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean, and the location to Niagara Falls, Marineland, etc. is amazing.

It is close to the border.

Closest location to Canada/ Us.border.
Still looks like a cheap motel from the 60's with minimal upgrades - the bathroom being an exception and the bed mattress also.
