Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hudson, A Morgans Original

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

I accidentally booked the wrong day, and was shut out. I called to see if I could get a refund, and they sent me a $25.00 coupon! Pretty upset, and I will never use Priceline again! I was a good customer, and my family uses it frequency, but this was unfair

Rooms could have been cleaner. There was no fixture in the light above the shower, leaving just a bare bulb.

Overall, this was a pretty average stay. Nothing stood out and nothing went wrong.

The smell in the lobby was so clean that it just invites you into the hotel. Room was small but comfortable and perfect for an overnight stay for one or a couple. Great location two blocks from Central Park. I will be staying again

I read the reviews about this hotel before hand, that prepared me for how small the room was going to be;but I didn't learn the story of the hotel until our bellboy explained the size of our room. That was quite interesting.
NO problems...... Our bellboy told us the building was a dorm for women during WWII that were "working for the cause". That is way the rooms are so small. They were extremely inventive with small space and use of interesting ideas to maximize the smace.

The hotel was only blocks from Central Park (however, due to the way the AREAS of the city are labeled, the hotel was located outside of "central park area", so the rates were much less expensive). If you plan to spend a lot of your time in your room, or if you are a diva and want a hotel room that looks like an apartment you will be unfulfilled. But if you are the kind who wants to be in the center of everything, and you plan to spend every waking minute exploring the city, and will only be in your room to sleep.........you will not be disappointed. The hotel has a fun, funky vibe. The rooms are the size of a small cruise ship cabin, as is the bathroom. But the sleep was sound, the city beautiful, and the staff helpful. I must give a shout out to James, who was the first person to greet us and the one to load our luggage as we left for the airport (he was extremely professional, and made us feel as we had a person connection to the hotel staff). The hotel has a sports bar (more for looking at sports on the screen, that listening, as the music was rocking). But it seems that the bar attracts locals. It is just one of the things I love about traveling. Trying new places, and seeing new parts of the city. This is no grand hotel with fancy ballrooms. But it is fun, energized, a bit eclectic, and a feel of freedom....we were surrounded by people in a hurry to get on with seeing the city, not sitting at the front desk complaining. Another nice thing for those of us without little ones, or simply wanting to be around adults for a few days.....I saw very few children in this hotel. ...read more

Location and staff.
Rooms are small, best for one person. Bathroom has a clear glass wall with no curtain.

Hotel is in a good location - close to central park and to subway system. Staff is friendly and courteous. Rooms are small and best for single occupancy. Bathroom has a clear glass wall with no curtain. Have to take bath with no lights on and hope the condensation gives you a privacy.

The location was perfect for me.
The room was smaller than most.

Kind of hip hotel at the gateway to the upper west side. If you have plans in that area in NY it is a good choice.

The hotel in general was beautiful and very modern. I especially loved the outdoor terrace and library lounge.Staff was top notch, valet parking easy and welcoming. Right at Columbus Circle, walking distance to Central Park and Times Square.
The rooms are VERY VERY small! Beautiful but will NOT accomodate more than 2 people. Upgrade to 2 beds will cost over xxx/night. We had a teenager with us and the room had barely enough room to put a sleeping bag down. No way a rollaway would fit.
