Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hyatt Place Birmingham/Hoover

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

A nice large room, food in the lobby, and very helpful and friendly staff.

Spacious rooms, 40 inch LCD TV, refigerator, free wi-fi, good location.
There were about 6 strands of hair in the bed before we ever touched it. We were checked in to a "non-smoking" room that smelled of stale cigarettes, but we were moved after we talked to the front desk. The phones did not work properly.

The hotel was pretty and had a great lobby, large flat screen tv in the room, nice bathroom, living space with a sleeper couch. The king bed was the most comfortable I stayed in all week. Overall loved the room.
The staff was not knowledgeable about area attractions and food. There was no binder or guidebook in the room so I had to ask downstairs about everything--checkout, hours, breakfast, internet. The pool was outdoor and closed for the season :(

The great staff and service they provided.
The pool wasn't open and the hotel didn't have a hot tub.

Friendly staff and clean room.
The egg muffin offered at breakfast was rubbery with no taste and the waffle pieces were hard as a rock.

Room was at or below average with an old/not so clean shower...I expected more from a 3-star hotel. They had a king room for me (needed 2 queens), and the room was very small. Front desk said no other rooms were available, but hotel did not seem booked.
Not a 3 star quality

Seems as if they have a few rooms set aside for Priceline customers, and that is all you get. We needed 2 queen beds, and front desk said all they had was a king room on the first floor. I booked well in advance, and will be hesitant to use Priceline to book a room next time. I paid for a 3-star hotel, and it was not up to par.
