Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hyatt Regency Newport

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

We were upgraded to a beautiful water view because they had availability.
Rooms were clean, not immaculate.

Location.
The parking fee. Also, although the hotel seemed quite empty, we got two rooms with a parking view...

The hotel was clean, the rooms were also clean and had modern design. As the hotel is located on an island, I was hoping for a better view; instead we got the parking view and a tiny bit of water. However, one of the rooms had a king size bed as we requested. The hotel charged us an extra 20$/room for parking. Although we traveled with one car, because we booked two rooms, we were charged 40 $. ...read more

Excellent location. On a separate island. Very beautiful grounds.
That they charge a resort fee. You pay for the hotel then get charged another $20 a night on top.

I found out upon arrival that there is an additional $20.00 resort fee that had to be paid.

A very nice hotel.

Love the property. Beautifully landscaped and scenery!
Pool - way too small for the size of the hotel & amount of guests using the pool. Plus there's no jacuzzi for adults.

Love the hotel. Front desk hosts were so accommodating and very nice. In the bar, our particular bartender was not so nice - cranky person, but love the bar area and outside deck. Food is a bit too pricey for quality & quantity. Not enough options for family(kids menu). Overall we had a wonderful experience. Great price from priceline!

The view from the room was nice, and the atmosphere was relaxing and quiet.
The hotel charged a 20.00 resort each day (included shuttle, bottled water, internet) that most others include.

The hotel met expectations. The room that we had was a king bed and had two windows to view the water outside. It was a corner room on the first floor, but it was quiet and out of the way of the lobby traffic. There was also a couch in the room, a nice sized desk,mini-fridge, and a spacious bathroom. There was a great deal of storage for clothes in the drawers, but the closet was small. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant and breakfast buffed (offered during the week during the busy spring/summer season) was delicious, but was pricey. However, it was a good value as it included beverages, made to order eggs/omelets, all of the continental items, as well as breakfast meats, smoked salmon, and fresh fruit. The hotel bar was also nice, and had both a view of the water, gas fireplaces, and televisions. The one thing that I did not like was that there was a 20.00 resort fee each day that included the shuttle into the downtown area (a 10-15 minute walk), internet access, parking, and two bottles of water per day. However, from reading the reviews I expected this fee, and since I got the room for such a low price by naming my own bid it was still a great deal! I would highly recommend this hotel, as it is out of the bustle of the downtown area but close enough to easily get to shops/restaurants. ...read more
