Hotel Guest Reviews of the Kings Inn - San Diego

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Decent location; free parking.
Wanted to check in at 230PM; they say check in is at 4. Hotel was EMPTY; yet they wanted an extra $10 to check in early. Garbage. Will not stay again. If you're the hotel manager reading this- dumb policy. I can see if it's checking in at 11AM. But 230?

The front desk staff and pool
The smell of smoking that lingered into my room

Great Location in close proximity to the beaches, Sea World, Zoo, Fashion Valley Mall, and Gaslamp districts. I loved the giant size and unique layout of the pool.

The air conditioner was broken and it was 81 degrees in my room. When I called the front desk at 3 am because it was too hot to sleep the clerk said they didn't have maintenance people overnight. I asked for a fan and she said they didn't have any. Really displeased with the lack of response. Considered sleeping with the door open or in my car.

It was clean - reasonably priced - well staffed - easy to find.
No

Although you could call this motel "vintage" it was great! this place was easy to find on motel row. It was clean which can be trickery for an older motel and the prices were reasonable. Staff were exceptionally helpful for good places to eat. It was a nice surprise to find true value-convenience-quality!

It took 5 hours to clean the room. Our tooth brushes were thrown away.

Hotel had great location. There were lots of restaurants within walking distance.
During Friday and Saturday evenings there was considerable noise outside which hindered sleeping.

Most of the staff was great! The room was clean for the most part, and met my needs.
There were no bedspreads on the beds; only sheets and thin blankets. The room was right above the pool, and staff had to be asked daily to monitor people in the pool after hours. The bathroom had mold and was falling apart.

This hotel is comfortable, and easily accessible to all areas. The staff is very helpful, and willing to meet your needs. The price of the rooms are comparable to the price that is paid for them; not the greatest, but the price wasn't the most expensive either. The manager comped my room for me without me asking, since it wasn't ready when I got there, even though I arrived several hours early. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, including providing all needs I asked for, and providing me with driving directions to places in the area that I needed to go to (stores, etc.). The only exception was one of the office staff who appeared to be "fishing for business" as though she was to receive compensation for it. All other staff helped me without pushing me for anything. The food at the Waffle Spot restaurant was nothing to rave about, and service was lacking. The waitress didn't fill my order correctly, and was not willing to correct it. I found the entire experience there to be unsatisfying, so I didn't return. The Amigo Spot restaurant was delicious! I visited it every night I was there! I would recommend this hotel for anyone who doesn't mind a less that top notch hotel stay, but would like a positive environment. ...read more

Hotel is an ok hotel as far as rooms and locations go. Staff is nice. Management is uncooperative.. None of the above ratings I tried to put in for the hotel work.
Big Problem. Paid for my room from Priceline for one night and then they booked me on my credit card for three more nights that I was not there. I was gone by 11Am of the next morning and departed. The manager today was uncooperative. Calling Credit Card
