Hotel Guest Reviews of the Kona Kai Resort And Spa

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The day staff in the morning was wonderful and made up for the disappointment in the rest of the stay.
The night staff was almost beligerent with us when we arrived. They refused to arrange a shuttle to the cruise line in the morning after we had been promised one and they sent us out in the dark to find our room which was very problemtic.

The hotel was undergoing a reno when we were there so it is understandable that things did not flow as smoothly as expected, however negative and downright mean desk staff at night was inappropriate even under the worst of circumstnces. The wonderful day staff the next morning (a young woman and delightful young man who was very engaging and talkative) were what saved the stay for us! ...read more

Great location and beautiful views.
The staff wasn't the friendliest. It was as if some of the people just didn't want to be there. This wasn't everyone. The check in and check out process was smooth. The staff while dining seemed to be a little irritated with simple requests.

Overall it was a great experience for the price. I do agree with other reviews in that the hotel is a little older. The walls allow a little more noise from the surrounding areas than I'd like. But, with the price paid, it can't be beat. The views and the harbor area were gorgeous. The restaurants around the hotel were really good. Definitely recommend checking this hotel out for your travel to San Diego. ...read more

This hotel has a fantastic location in between the bay and the Marina. Several very nice restaurants within a short walk and is located close to the sports arena, sea world, sea port village, old town and the gas lamp district.

The location is absolutely beautiful! The Room had a fantastic view!
The condition of some of the things in the room were worn/old/outdated. Such things like the bathtub, and T.V.

Overall, it was s great experience. I would stay here again!

The pool area was beautiful.

Great stay at the Kona Kai. The rooms were a bit outdated and could use some additional sound proofing, but the hotel was quiet at night and we had no issues with noise while we were sleeping. The pool area was gorgeous and there were lots of free easy activities to do. The location was 15-20 minutes from everything you'd want and there were some restaurants and other amenities within walking distance. We'd stay again. ...read more

The hotel location was really great. Everybody on staff was nice and very helpful.
The hotel loaded up with dogs for a show so it got a little noisy at times but didn't bother us. The bed mattress was a little old but I slept great. Very happy with hotel overall.

Had I known about this hotel I would probably have stayed there in the past. It is a great location.

Great location.

Great place to relax in a nice setting. Ideal as hub to explore the SD area by car.

Was only there for a few hours overnight.
Hours for the the airport shuttle. Had an early flight (6:40am), shuttle started at 5:30. Hotel staff thought I would be ok, I was not as sure and had a friend pick me up earlier (5:00am). I would have missed my flight had I waited.
