Hotel Guest Reviews of the Lauderdale Beachside Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Could use a little TLC, but they are working on it

It's right on the beach, after we had delays getting from Canada to FL. We ended up having to catch a flight to Fort Lauderdale so we could at least drive to Orlando. We were surprised but the last min booking of this hotel, it needs a little work, just a little and they are working on it. It's a right next to a beautiful beach, and the staff is great, I had wished we would have stayed in the Lauderdale beachside hotel for our entire trip and not had went to Orlando at all. Lauderdale by the sea is a great city with great people its more laided back not one big race track like Orlando. ...read more

location
almost everything

i reserved a ocean view room, when i arrived at 3p.m. i was told there was non available, no apology, at about 4:10 they said they have a room ready in the main building which is not a ocean view and actually across the street. After entering room the carper was so dirty in stains if you walked in socks or barefoot it would turn your feet black in just minutes. Hot water seriously took 10 + minutes to become somewhat warm. Back sliding glass door missing handle on outside so couldnt enter from patio unless leaving door open. Room key didnt work at first had to get re programmed, then again every day after that, Had personal pillows that were brought (4) Upon the cleaning the next day they took off 1 of my pillow cases and replaced it with one of theres, which happened to be a silk pillow case that went to a nice bedding set, explained to front desk what happened and received no empathy, i told them the pillow was not even the same color as there pillow cases so i dont understand how they can mix it up on top of that when pillow case was removed my pillow was not standard white like room pillows it was blue, was told to return to desk in morning when maids are in, i did and they said they would talk to them, next day no go, said they cant find it. Still no apology I spoke with 3 seperate people on this matter including a supposed GM, which basically stated i cant be pleased, even though he offered no sincere apology or resolution to anything. There was mold in bathroom, rust in tub, cracks all along ceiling, broken door shock, missing outlet plates. Everyday room was half way cleaned and replaced with 1-2 towels and 1 washcloth, had to go to front desk everyday to get more towels. Outside door was left propped open my staff from the problems with room keys not working so no security of outside entering hotel. we planned to stay till the 12th but below par service and rude staff made a early vacation departure. I have taken many photos of room flaws. ...read more

I liked best that I only was there 5 1/2 hours
It was disgusting

If there was such a thing as a negative star rating this would deserve one. It was old, run down, the curtains hanging off the wall, no top to the toilet, tub didnt drain, beds mattresses were prison style, towels were cheap scratchy and small. I can honestly not say one good thin about this place. But it was cheap.

Loved the location, right on the beach. Didn't see the staff that much but they were great when I was around.
The shower leaked a little. otherwise nothing else really comes to mind.

This is a great priced hotel right on the beach. Great location, market right across street, bars down the road!

Location to beach.
No complaints!

Less than a block from the beach, which was super convenient. The staff were very friendly. There was also a mini-fridge, which was a plus. Overall, it was a pleasant experience

The best part was the view from our 2nd dirty disgusting room.
Hated everything but the view. Front desk staff were horrifying. The first room they tried to put us in was VERY dirty and the fridge didn't work. Very outdated rooms. The second room was equally dirty and we found a broken adult toy. Awful avoid!

Would not recommend this hotel. They advertised on Priceline they have a restaurant and tiki bar which were both closed. The pool was filthy and the rooms were so disgusting we had to go to buy cleaning products. Location was good and beach was clean but the accommodations were deplorable and some other guests were telling us about the roaches in their rooms. Wanted a refund but didn't get one because I purchased on Priceline. So beware if this location!! ...read more

The Location
The key cards to the room did not work properly and it was a task getting into your room. The hotel lacked towels and the ones that they did have were raggedy and rough.

Hotel has a good location. We had some maintenance issues with the bath tub, however the hotel staff sent someone up to fix it right away. They need to fix the issues with the doors to the room because it took 5 minutes to get back into the room each time you left. They also need to invest in some linens to accommodate their guest. The $7 a day "resort" fee needs to be done away with until the place completes renovations and adds accommodations/facilities to truly be considered a resort (no restaurants, bar, fitness room, room service, no jaccuzi, hot tub). However the place was clean and decent enough and the staff was friendly. If you are going on vacation and wont be spending a lot of time in your room and you are on a budget, this is a good place. ...read more

It's a good location. The hotel appears to have been ruined by too many spring breaks. Broken glued together lamp and dirty walls in our "executive suite". Mattresses were old and bedding flimsy.
Once again I feel duped by Priceline. It was not the quality as promised. I guess "best deals" mean better than sleeping on the car. The executive suite we were upgraded to had a glued together lamp, patched dirty wall, flimsy bed coverings
