Hotel Guest Reviews of the Le Meridien Piccadilly

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location, location, location.
It is rated as a 5* but I would say its a a good 4* (rather than an mediocre 5*..)

The location is amazing, 10-15 minutes walking from everywhere... London eye, Westminister, Buckingham palace, Oxford Street, Picadilli Sqr, Trafalgar Sqr, St James Park, EVERYTHING! Has a very nice Gym, the rooms are pretty much decent, nothing fancy, but does the work.

great location, great staff very helpful and nice. Clean room. Great value using Priceline compared to the full regular rate. Would be nice to be able to upgrade to higher grade room for some added charge when arrive at hotel but that is not an option.
Great value at this hotel, would do it again. the hotel has been updated.

Great hotel and great staff in great location. the room is a little small but so is the price using Priceline. Would go back again. It would be nice if Priceline could arrange to allow guests to upgrade to a higher grade room for an additional charge when arrving on site. A very good experience.

The common areas were immaculate and there was a reasonable pool in the lower level.
The rooms were dated, poorly lit and depressing

Not a 5 State hotel. They rooms were dark and depressing and they had the nerve to want 20 pounds/day for internet which I thought was tacky and a policy that is being abandoned by more and more hotels. The location was great, I took the Piccadilly line from Heathrow and was one block walking distance to this hotel. Nice lobby, common area and gyms. My theory is the basement pool gives the hotel a rating credit for 5 stars but it really deserves less ...read more

Great location in Picadilly Circus. Hotel floors full of steps... could use a few ramps to facilitate. Wifi is available for additional charge and good coverage in room.

Staff, location
not really

My room was small but I was by myself so it was perfect for me. Very comfortable - Great staff.

The location.
Small, awkward rooms. Staff not trained properly.

This is not a 5* hotel. The brand may claim to be 5* but this location is clearly not. I stayed in room 229. A faint but annoying odor in the room. Not distinct or annoying enough to want to repack my luggage and request another room but the odor never went away. Front desk staff. Not efficient (can't look up Starwood Hotels information, wanted me to remain at the front while she called engineering for a simple room item-clogged sink, no return call on a question about the television). Not a modern room. Shortage of electrical outlets, creaky floors under the carpet. No desk. No drawers. No incoming light even though the room was on the second floor. Priceline has an obligation to vet these hotels before selling them as 5*. When I have bid for other 5* in this London location I have been allocated to the Intercontinental, the Marriot or the Grosvenor House. Those are 5* ...read more

Date of Stay: Feb 01-08, 2013. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst, if not the worst hotel stays of my life. While rated 5 *, I would rate this location as a 3* at best, primarily bc of the service. I was placed in # 303 an inside room w no ventilation, I could hear the restaurant below, the toilet did not flush , the maid ignored the do not disturb sign and called me (?!) on the phone to see if I wanted service, the maid did not replace the kleenex box. I could hear the elevator droning "door opening", "door closing" all week. I could hear the maids talking in the hall. I could hear my neighbours verbatim. The bathroom garbage can was so small it could accomodate the foot of a fairy and no more. The bedside lamp was just out of reach of your arm. The business centre was freezing, the computers slow and the keyboards sticky -- taking twice as long and twice the cost to do your work. The concierges were not familiar w the area, rarely available and sent you to locations that were closed down. Once the toilet shut down in #303, I was moved to #603 where the bed was soft and sloped on one side. All in all it was a terrible stay and a very badly managed property w inadequately trained staff. ...read more

good location, kind staff
The breakfast menu is too limited and expensive.

The location of this hotel is best! The room is very clean and modern.

Location was nice which is very close to Picadally circus station
Walls were too thin. I could here the exact conversation the people in the next room were having. I could hear them when they took shower or just walking in the room. I couldn't sleep at night because they kept talking. This was the absolute worse 5-star

Location was good but it barely felt like a 4-star hotel even though it was supposed to be 5-star! The room wasn't very clean and definitely didn't feel like 5-star. The walls were too thin and i could here everything from people walking by to exact conversations they were having. I couldn't sleep at night because of that noise. Will never ever book in that hotel again!
