Hotel Guest Reviews of the Le Richelieu

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Historic, in a part of French Quarter I had not much experience with. Nice, helpful staff.
Bad mattress, had a stain on it that went through the sheets. kind of 'rough' room.

Overall, it was pretty nice/cute/quaint. I liked the historic nature of it, but had some problems with the run-down nature of the rooms, especially the mattresses and the showers. The alarm on our clock went off at 5;30am - maybe my fault for not checking it, but I didn't set it, so I didn't expect it to go off. The same thing must have happened in the un-occupied room next to ours as we could hear an alarm going off from about 6:30am until after we woke up. ...read more

Excellent and reasonably priced breakfast; very helpful friendly staff; quiet location.
Not enough room around pool or in bar.

Extremely nice; little long walk to most quarter attractions; attractive quiet location in French Quarter; romantic.

We loved every aspect of this historic and charming hotel. Would highly recommend to friends and family.
Not a single thing wrong.

As a couples getaway stay, it could not have been a better hotel in our opinion.

It was in a quiet area and was very nice for an older hotel.
Mattress was not firm enough.

Overall location
Bed was not comfortable and the floor was not level in our room.

I have stayed at this hotel before and the beds were comfortable on that trip and we had a large balconey to sit out on.

It was located in the French Quarter but was away from loudness of Bourbon Street.
The room was musty and wasn't furnished in the way I would have expected for the way the outside looked.

The outside is beautiful and impressive. The lobby is equally so, so I was shocked when we checked into out room and it was kind of shabby. The room wasn't decorated very nicely and it had a lot of closets which took up a lot of the room, so we where cramped. The bed was terrible!

The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful to us. The pool/courtyard was relaxing and an attractive area. The lobby was beautiful.
The room was stuffy, outdated and could have used some febreeze.

The outdated room was a bit much, but the rest of the hotel was very attractive with an old-world feel. The front desk staff were kind and wonderful to us. The pool and courtyard made a cool, refreshing way to complete the day.

The hotel's location was perfect - close to Bourbon and other sights. Hotel staff very knowledgeable and friendly.
Outdated furniture/fixtures.

I would definitely visit this hotel again. It was perfect for my short trip and allowed easy access to Bourbon Street and festivals in the French Market.

The building has charm and most of the staff were very nice and helpful. The pool is open late. That was a plus because it was too hot to swim during.
Didn't like paying a $20 fee to park in their parking lot. The bed was hard as a rock. The room was unusually small.

Our first stay in the Le Richelieu was very nice but this visit was very disappointing. I had to park in a cramped space that was so tight I had to let the family out first then park and squeeze out of my car. The parking attendant was rude to us. Our room was unusually small. The bed was hard and extremely uncomfortable. We were charged a $20 parking fee. Room= $140. plus $20.00 parking fee. Having visited the area many times, I did not feel we got our moneys worth out of this trip. ...read more
