All fluff no stuff! Bad location, no beach, pool ok for lounging, but not serious swimmer. Staff at pool and front desk terrible. Evident that staff poorly managed well. Everything is excessively overpriced where it feels like Marriott is so desperate for money they will attempt to isolate their customers and over price everything. Not a warm relaxing environment. Will not return. ...

Family Traveling with Teens
I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family. We did take a cab to Jaco beach because we didn't like the beach in front of the hotel but everything was very nice. It is also located near the Marina in an upscale area. The grounds are very beautiful and the golf course looks great if you are a golfer.

Family Traveling with Young Children
The hotel room i was assigned did not meet the standards of Harriot. General manager seemed sincere but did not follow up on promises nor did her staff. Staff not empowered seemed hotel is in transition. Served a half of hot dog and needed a manager to approve providing me a new one. Received 15% coupon for dinner but not honored since it was only good for the same day of my incident of poor service. No concierge outsourcing to travel company Swiss Travel for all excursions even taxi rides.

Overall, it is a very nice hotel, I would say probably the nicest in the area. Having said that, it still does not compare to just mediocre hotels in Cancun for instance. So, it shouldn't be so pricey. The fact that everything is so pricey raises the level of expectation in all areas of the hotel. So while it is a nice place for the area, it is only worthy of average prices for food, drinks, amenities. The food was really poor quality as well. Almost everyone we met there said the same thing about the food not being very good (and overpriced). Night time ambience in the restaurant was dreary and sleepy, not even romantic. Other night, the main restaurant was holding a private event? Not cool, brings down the experience. ...
