Hotel Guest Reviews of the Magnuson Grand Hotel And Conference Center

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Very clean throughout. The food was good and the prices were very reasonable. Location is consistent with a rural area; there aren't any "attractions"!
The Magnuson is dated but clean. The rooms and public areas could use a makeover but since they do a good job of maintaining, this is less of an issue than it would normally be.

My experience is that this hotel was a value for the bid price. The location is right off I-55 which makes it convenient to go to either Springfield or St.Louis. Grounds are attractive, restaurant good and fairly priced with good choices. Breakfast buffet is included with room and was decent; eggs, ham, biscouts, gravy, juices. I'd definitely book this property again.

The new owners have started to make necessary renovations...still have work to do, however. We did just sleep there; in the past (2011), we've had dinner - and it was delicious. Don't know about now. Bed comfy & lots of pillows; good towels and amenities.

The hotel was excellent. The room was gorgeous and was as advertises. I njoyed the King sized bed and the fridge and microwave. This is a lovely hotel
I was very happy with the service and price.

It is very close to the highway, a mere 30 miles from Springfield, IL and only 60 miles from St Louis

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Plus the indoor pool was one of the best I have used. The complimentary breakfast exceeded the breakfast you normally order in a restaurant.
I liked everything about this hotel.

The Magnuson Hotel was an exceptional value. Although a bit dated in areas it had great charm, warmth, and friendliness. With free internet in the rooms, a business area, a cozy, friendly bar area, lovely dining room, and an exceptional pool area this hotel is one of the best 3 star hotels I have stayed at. The complimentary breakfast was hot, plentiful, and delicious, and exceeded the quality of what you normally get ordering off the menu at a restaurant. When I pulled into the hotel parking lot I was unsure of what I was getting, but after checking in I was completely surprised and delighted at this charming, friendly hotel. The guest rooms are clean and comfortable with plenty of cable tv channels if you wish to miss using the beautiful pool area. Try to get a room poolside since they seem to have a few more amenities than the outside rooms. I highly recommend this hotel and hope to stay there again. ...read more

Bed and pillows were comfortable.
No free breakfast.

I stayed at this hotel because the wedding I attended was held there. It was alright, but nothing to write home about. Would not stay there again if I had a choice of hotels to stay at.
