The spa and pool were terrific.
We were staying at the Marriott Newport Beach BAYVIEW, but there was certainly no bay view from the room they gave us.

Decent hotel; nothing special; and a considerable distance from the main attractions of Newport Beach.

Nice clean hotel, nice ambience outside (pool area / lounge), loved the room we had
There was no valet parking or bellman to assist with luggage -- thought there would have been at least one or two people staffed to meet guests.

Great king suite and the service was great.

This hotel is a few miles from the ocean/beach, but the service was great.

Excellent hotel - outdoor areas were clean and hospitable. Fire pits by the pool, lounge areas, etc. Great place to relax
Unfortunately, parking was quite expensive. $21 for overnight parking. Also, it was a little farther from the beach than I had expected.

Pro - Great pool, outdoor fireplace, lounge areas, bar; very clean room; friendly staff Con - Farther from beach, no smoking on patios, expensive parking

It was a cool hotel, I liked that it wasn't in the middle of a busy town, view was great.
Had to pay for parking, as well as breakfast. Tried to grab a drink at the bar, bartender said he'd be right with us and we sat there for 15 minutes before eventually leaving.

The room was very spacious. Separate living room and bedrooms was very nice. Fridge in room was very useful
The online comments said there was a safe in the room. Not true. Safes are behind front desk counter, had to wait for staff and sign in and sign out everytime. Did not like this. Parking fee of 21.00 is ridiculous. Pool was out of towels twice.

Hotel is located close to office buildings. There is nothing close to walk to for food or shopping. When we checked in I asked if the room had 2 beds or one king, the response was "well, what did you book?" When I told him that I was not sure and asked if he could look, he acted annoyed. I also asked if I had a bay view. He said I did not book that so I could have a parking lot view or a second parking lot view or I could pay an extra 20.00 a day for a bay view. I agreed but when we got to the room, I had a parking lot view. We called the desk and had to haul all our luggage back down and change out for another room. Not sure what happened here. There was no apology but they gave me another room. This had a slight bay view but more of the road view, which was very noisy. I felt like it was all business and would have expected a friendlier attitude and help. Restaurant and bar staff very nice. May stay again because the room was very clean, but would ask for a better room. Would prefer an hotel closer to shopping or attractions. ...read more

Great staff, huge suites with a ton of space. I loved the hotel, nice, quiet, and in a nice location.
Parking fees. Bad view, can't see ocean.

The hotel room I booked was far nicer then what I payed for it. Nice living room, great shower, balcony, and king bed that was comfortable. Big TV's in both living space and in the bedroom. The staff was very nice, set up dinner at the Surf and Sand on the water. Friendly, small, quiet lobby and staff. I would definitely stay here again, I had a great stay. I recommend this place for anyone looking for a great deal, with just a short drive down the road to Newport, Emerald Bay, and Laguna Beach. Great experience, would go back in a second. ...read more
