Hotel Guest Reviews of the Miami Sun Hotel - Downtown/Port Of Miami
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.April 28, 2013

I attended a photography workshop at one of the major, luxury hotel chains downtown. I stayed 6 nights and saved enough money to buy a $600 lens for my camera and pocketed $400. It all depends on what you personally want. For me a room is just a place to spend 8 hours a day with my eyes closed (sleeping). The room at the Miami Sun Hotel was very good value with friendly and helpful staff. I could walk or take the free Metromover to all the attractions that I wanted to go to, thus saving me the additional expense of renting a car and then paying for parking. ...

The hotel has a very good location and It's easier to get public transport. It's a good hotel if you don't want to spen too much and if you don't care if you are comfortable or not. I advise to try not to arrange any trips from the hotel and contact the agency directly.

Where do I begin? My husband and I visited this "nasty hotel" this past weekend on 4/6/13. We were attending the Miami Heat game and stood in Miami so that we didn't have to drive back home to WPB so late. DONT be fooled by the hotel pics on the internet because the hotel looks NOTHING like the pics. This hotel is so nasty, the sheets and pillows were musty and smelled like mold. The ceiling looked as if it was going to collapse and the bathroom was so small that you can hardly wipe your BUTT in there. The shower is so tiny that I kept banging my arms on the wall when showering and the damn soap dispenser almost fell off when I grabbed it to wash my feet. On top of that there were no cups for drinks. When my husband went down stairs to get ice he asked if they had an ice bucket and the receptionist behind the counter gave him a freaking plastic bag (how ghetto is that). While we were waiting for the "plastic bag" there were some visitors asking for a refund because the rooms were quote "disgusting and horrible". The rate that they charged was $xx plus a $5 key deposit as crappy as this hotel is they should be charging $xx a night. It was the absolute WORST hotel experience that I ever had and needless to say..."I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE" I am so surprised that they managed to stay open as crappy as that building is. YUCK YUCK YUCK....Spend a few bucks more and stay somewhere else. ...

It is nice location for hupping around in downtown Miami. But the price and quality of rooms, I will say it is very expensive.

Don't let the appearance of this hotel cloud your judgement. If you plan on staying in your room most of the time I would not pick this hotel. For all the conveniences of location and cleanliness of the room it was exactly what we wanted. If you need a few days before, in-between or after a cruise this is the place. We will use this Miami Sun every time we are here!

This was positively the WORST hotel I have ever stayed! NOT somewhere I would consider safe!! It was dirty, the staff were semi rude. There is NO PARKING! and it is in a very bad part of town. I am surprised Priceline deals with such a horrible place. If I had any idea it was this bad I would NEVER have booked this hotel.
