Hotel Guest Reviews of the Microtel Inn & Suites By Wyndham Tuscaloosa/Nr University Of Al

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Beds were comfortable
Breakfast could be lots better

The hotel is OK. Breakfast could be lots better. The staff needs to be more in tune to customers.

The staff were very friendly and polite. The internet worked well in the rooms. The location was convenient for our visit.
We expected to be able to book a king room, but they don't have any. A queen room is actually one double bed. The breakfast was ok, but pretty limited on options. The hotels listed with this star rating are definitely nicer than this Microtel.

The location is very close to the campus and a shopping area with lots of eating options (although nothing in walking distance...you will need your car). It is also very close to a Super Target if you forget something. The star listing options stated several other hotel chains that we have stayed at before, but we didn't think this Microtel measured up to our other experiences. I think for the area of Tuscaloosa, it probably is considered nicer, but we were really disappointed and would have preferred to stay somewhere with a few more amenities (and bigger beds...no kings). The staff were great, though, and in the end, we probably got what we paid for (but we were hoping to get a great deal on a nice place to stay). ...read more

location, lobby
hotel room wasn't very clean, dirty carpet, hair in tub

when we received the confirmation from priceline, it had an "ameneties" selection that we checked to see if the hotel offered a crib. according to this email, a crib was an available amenety. we were traveling with a newly adopted 2 year old to have a series of surgeries the following morning, so sleep was of the utmost importance. since the hotel, according to priceline's confirmation email, offered a crib, we did not bring our pack and play. when we arrived at the hotel, they noted they do not have cribs, so we asked them to give us a room with two beds. they noted that the reservation change would have to go through priceline. in a series of calls with priceline rep's and managers, they continued to harp on the fact that the contract we signed didn't guarantee a crib so no change would be made. i cannot comment on the contract we signed, but only on the confirmation email provided by priceline to me, which specifically mentioned the availability of a crib. i cannot properly express how angry i am and how disappointed i am with priceline and microtel. due to this, my family struggled to get any rest that evening which set us up for a miserable couple days for my new sons surgery. i cannot express how vehemently i will decry this event and will never utilize the services of priceline or microtel ever again. the hotel was not half-full, yet we were not given a room with two beds because priceline nor microtel would make a common-sense decision. priceline 100% dropped the ball on this and i will ever tell this story to anyone who considers using this service. ...read more

Clean, nice room. Quiet at night. Efficient staff. Great for my needs attending a conference at the University.

Good hotel for business travelers just needing a nice, spacious room for the night(s).

Carpet was nasty and stained. I did not want to walk without socks or shoes do to the large stains on the carpet. Very dissapointed.

Do not take your shoes off.

Proximity, friendly front desk staff, comfortable bedding.
The cleanliness of the bathroom was not great. There was what looked like blood on the toilet paper when we checked in and the toilet wasn't clean.

We've stayed at this hotel before. It's in a great location. Very close to all shopping and the university. Breakfast was good for what it was. The only negatives we have are the cleanliness of the bathroom and the noise on the second night of our stay. Apparently they had booked a lacrosse team at the hotel and around 2AM we started hearing loud voices and much door slamming. This went on until around 4:30-5AM and then I think they may have checked out or passed out. ...read more
