Hotel Guest Reviews of the Montvale Hotel
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.October 30, 2012

Excellent bit of history in this restored upscale hotel - a great place to stay.

Our reservation could not be found upon arrival. The hotel was nice, but we could have found a cheaper option with more amenities.

The whole place needs to be vacuumed better. The was enough dust on the shelf of my night stand to write dust me with my finger tip. When we checked in we up to our room and discovered that the room already had other peoples bags in it. Guess they checked us into someones room. It didn't bother me at first, but later I felt very uncomfortable leaving my things in the room when we went out. Also there was a very active train track by our room that woke me up all night. The restaurant, Scratch, that was attached to the hotel came highly recommended and the hours said open until 11pm, when we went at 9pm they were closed.

The interior and exterior of the Montvale are very beautiful. The decor is very tasteful. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
The staff made every effort to assist us and make us comfortable. I would return to this hotel.

It was a wonderful place to stay in Spokane! It was at a great spot downtown (close to shopping, the park and some wonderful little restaurants - Madeline's was great for breakfast and the Old Spaghetti Factory was only one block away!). The hotel decor was original and the building had history. The doors were very tall and the rooms and bathroom were spacious. The public area was also beautiful. It had a huge skylight and places to sit and drink the free 24hr coffee. ...

We stay at this hotel couple years ago and had great experience, that's why I booked it again this time. But I have to said that the service went down hill. When I booked it, it indicated that the hotel provide free parking, free breakfast and Internet. Start with the parking! When we check-in, I asked the lady where should we park the car for the free parking after showing her my booking confirmation with the freebie, she told me that we can park at the meter around the block as it is free in the evening till 8 am. That is kind of tricky! Then we had a room on the third floor where the Internet doesn't really work due to weak reception. And for the breakfast! Even I show her the confirmation, she told me that is not included. Thankfully, another lady who was off duty but happened to drop by to visit was able to help. She took a look of my confirmation and told me that they can provide us $6 voucher/person to the restaurant Scout which has wonderful breakfast and great service! I wish I can said that I am not going to let one staff ruin my experience at this hotel, but one of the cups in our room was dirty and one of the towels has black stuff on it. As much as I love this little charming historical hotel, I guess I will try other place next time!
