Hotel Guest Reviews of the Prince Conti
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.March 16, 2012

This is a great place to stay. It's steps from Bourbon St. and a close walk to all of the French Quarter attractions. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This hotel is another one of those historic New Orleans gems. The nature of the French Quarter is crowded, so don't go expecting a sprawling brand new piece of modern architecture. Instead, if you embrace the rich history and authentic detail that imbue this hotel with a museum-like grace and character, you will really, really enjoy yourself. Valet parking is available, but I'd recommend using one of several pay-to-park lots within a block or two. Take your things out of your vehicle, pay much less. Also, the wifi signal in our room was weak and occasionally caused aborted uploads. At times, this was frustrating. My only other issue would be with the card keys for the rooms. They were unfamiliar to me, lacking a magnetic stripe so they couldn't be demagnetized by cell phones, etc. But during my stay, they constantly became non-functional. As a result, my friend and I had to get well over 20 keys issued to us over the course of just a few days. The staff, however, was friendly, attentive, and professional. They made accommodations for my early check-in and were quick to facilitate a last-minute addition of an additional friend to my reservation on the second to last day of my stay. The manager
was classy, smart and in control. It was a pleasure to stay here and it was a pleasure for me to let her know I'd be writing them a favorable review. For the optimal French Quarter visit, I prefer staying in a building that has been there for many decades, a building like this one, with an historic elegance. With this hotel, you don't sacrifice amenities to get that experience. Definitely recommended. ...

We froze our tails off in this room. The only option was to turn it off. The room never got above 60 degrees (F). The water never got hot and we were unable to take a shower or a bath. The hotel staff did not care about these problems. If you want a good location, this is it.

The lobby, restaurants, and hallways will have you until you get in room. The woodwork was all scuffed up, the beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable, the pillows were flat. The staff walked in on us without knocking one time and the toilet overflowed for no reason. The room was pretty small and the TV was an old school one, not flat screen, and it wasn't very large and the cable was very limited. Not what I expected from the price and the hotel's website. However, the location couldn't be beat. It was one block from Bourbon and within walking distance of the whole French Quarter. It was the best part of the hotel. ...

Super-convenient to the French Quarter, a very charming hotel that is quiet and well-kept. The only downside was the well-past-its-life-expectancy mattress.

Located very close to Bourbon Street and other attractions in the French Quarter. Staff was very helpful and had great recommendations on sites to see and places to eat. The hotel needed remodeling and the furnishings were old, dirty and the room smelled.
