Hotel Guest Reviews of the Americas Best Value Inn

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Price; not worth it for $20.00 more Holiday Inn would be better.
Everything scared to go to sleep waiting to be robbed.

Hotel needs a complete make-over and new management, plus some kind of security to keep the drug dealers out. I would not even use the toilet it was old and showers area rusted old. The whole room smells, note this is smoking room.I suggest request a non smoking room and just smoke outside. I smoke and cannot handle the smell, plus very dirty inside the whole room and bathroom. Very scarely outside. due to drug dealings. Good luck. ...read more

The room was very big, lots of space.
The first room, (we moved to another later) had hardly any water pressure at all.

Staff is very friendly. The continental breakfast is sufficient, better than in some others I've seen. The rooms are nice and big. There's a fridge and microwave in each one (some bigger, some smaller fridges, but we were lucky to get the bigger kind in the second room we stayed in.) The carpets were not too clean - stains. You could hear the train pass nearby. I found it nostalgic. Some people might object to the noise. I was very happy with my stay for what I paid.

The room was spacious.
The exterior looks slummish.

This hotel doesn't look like much on the outside, but I have stayed their twice in the last two weeks in different rooms and I have been pleased both times. The beds are comfortable and the room is quite spacious. I was surprised to see a microwave, mini fridge and coffee pot in a one star room but there they were! Although the hotel is just off the freeway, I couldn't hear traffic. ...read more

Everything was very nice.

I had a wonderful experience at the Americas Best Value Inn in Merced. The rooms were roomy, there continental breakfast was very good. Also the staff was friendly, helpful, outgoing personalities, and very timely. I would definitely continue going back and giving them my business.

This time, nothing.
Coffee pot missing, staff wouldn't replace. Internet wasn't working, staff wouldn't fix.

This particular America's Best is better than most, but when something goes wrong, and that's often, you can expect no help whatsoever. Whether it's a missing coffee pot, non-working Internet, or during our last visit. Both at the same time, the staff is very polite about promising to take care of it, and then never actually doing so.

The staff attempted to remedy each bad situation immediately.

Electric cords not properly wired, running across floor and sliced together. First morning we had no hot water. Second morning after the first shower we had no water pressure. 2 of us had to use another room to shower. The pool was not green but it was so cloudy we could not see below the first foot. The milk was sour in the breakfast area and after they brought fresh milk, it was sour as well. On our way back from jack in the box, (which is across the street), we were confronted by what looked like a gang member... The only good thing I can say is the staff tried to fix things right away, however, it was not enough to ever make me stay there again, even for the price. ...read more

OK bed comfy.
Wow
AC blew into drapes instead of room, water was not hot most of the time ice machine far away, (one that worked) vending machines some broke down.

Noisy freeway and AC, towels at pool ragged didn't get a non smoking room requested they said it was full, but noticed some empty rooms all the time, good deal for the money outrageous regular price. (Yosemite tourist zone to blame no doubt), no map of town available didn't refill the coffee 2nd night refrigerator had no freezer shelf and very small too. There were not enough plugs for the microwave, refrigerator, and hair dryer, TV had grainy snowy pictures. There was a broken stair on the back side of the complex. Trash receptacles far spaced. ...read more
