Hotel Guest Reviews of the Ramada Plaza New Yorker Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The location is good.
The room is small and very old. I do not think it can be rated as 4 stars, at most 3 stars.

I love the decor of the building! We had a fabulous view - especially at night! And loved the location. We were near everything. Really enjoyed it!
No - for the price I think we got a good deal.

I would have to say that after we checked out on Saturday, we left our luggage with the bellhop as we planned to do some sight-seeing. They charged us a $1.00 when we left the luggage and another $1 when we picked it up. It's tacky for a hotel of this or any caliber to charge a fee for hotel guests to store their items for a few hours. It should be a courtesy. We've stayed in many hotels and never had this experience. We would have tipped as we always do. We didn't after we had to pay a fee. ...read more

A fantastic location
The room was very average, no fridge, not even a bottle of water in the room. Very poor! To have a room with a bigger bed or two bedrooms you need to pay an extra fee.

Very good location! Very close to stores and to subways.

The room was large by NY standards. We had a beautiful view of the Empire State building. It was clean, quiet and comfortable.
Loved everything!

Lovely hotel!

location

checkin employee was full of attitude when I simply was shocked and disappointed that our room was still not ready at 6:30pm and was told that I would have to wait another 10minutes. I was then threatened that I could give up my room with a view for another room if I didn't want to wait. Not a very good first impression by any means. street noise is very loud in room, we were on the 29th floor. Room is small, would appreciate a mini fridge and a coffee maker/kettle. ...read more

Hotel is in an excellent location and is right across the street from Penn Station which is perfect for train service from airport. Rooms were well appointed and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The New Yorker is in a great location whether you are a walker or use public transit. We took the double decker bus which was a great value over the five days we were there. Chef Yu across the street is a great place for dinner and the pizzerias in the area are a must. Wouldn't change a thing about our stay.

great location for a visit to lower manhattan, macy's, union square, flatiron dist. etc. Handy to Penn station
The size of the room and bathroom were very very small for this reason it should only be 3 1/2 Star at best.

The location was great...a short walk to Chelsea, Empire State Building and Times Square and a short cab ride (or if youre feeling adventurous like us, a walk too) to Central Park and Financial District.
The rooms and bathrooms are rather out-dated.

If you're looking for a hotel with a great, central location...this place is a good choice. If, however, you're looking for a "4-5 star" hotel experience with extravagant rooms and amenities, look elsewhere. The Hotel New Yorker boasts teeny rooms with less than appealing bathrooms. We were "fortunate" enough to be upgraded (due to unavailability of a standard room) to a handicapped room (their words, not mine), which posed some issues for us. Granted it gave us a much larger space, it removed the ledge from the tub/shower area...thus flooding the bathroom floor whenever one of us showered. The water pressure in the bathroom was also a joke - it would have been just as effective if I were to just splash water on me from the sink. In a nutshell - the location really was great, but I wouldn't stay there again. ...read more
