Hotel Guest Reviews of the Red Lion Portland Convention Center

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Not much
The musty odor on the third floor was terrible. There were signs of mold and my sinuses were a mess after one night.

This hotel needs help. I will never stay there again. Besides the moldy odor the air conditioners sounded like a jet plane.

The coffee shop on the ground floor was wonderful. The service was attentive and the food was prepared well.
The carpet in the hallway had dirty spots and was stained. The fitness center was missing some important pieces of equipment; the opportunities to exercise were good for cardio, but for toning, were poor.

This place looks old and needs refurbishment. If the rack rate is xxx, that is overpriced for what the hotel actually was. It was shown to be a 3 star hotel, but I would say it barely qualifies as maybe a 2 star.

Friendly, organized staff took delivery of a parcel and held it for me, immediately retrieved it at check-in. Also, gave great directions to the beach.
It would have been convenient if there was a microwave in the room (in addition to the fridge). That way we wouldn't have to eat cold restaurant leftovers.

Across the street from Burgerville. 'Nuff said, right? But also close to many other attractions. Every employee we interacted with was extremely friendly and competent.

Great location, right on light rail, helpful staff, fair price. Business hotel.
Air conditioning not working at time of stay- NO climate control over rooms save for FANS.

Scored this hotel at a great price on priceline. Business oriented hotel RIGHT on the light rail(which will save you HUNDREDS; forget cabs!) just on the other side of the river from downtown Portland. Super helpful staff, great service, great location. Air conditioning or climate control of the rooms not available...you use a damned FAN? LOL. Not exactly a three star...

About the only positive thing I can determine about this property is the location and quality of the bed/bedding
This was a tired, old, out of date property. It is in need of significant upgrades to rugs, bathrooms, tile work, etc. Just worn out. Parking fee was excessive as well.

The location near Lloyd Center and the Rose Garden is great. The MAX line run right next to the property so getting from the east to west side is very easy.

Great location. Free WIFI
Strangely designed parking lot and entrance, they charge a-lot for parking.

It was old and it showed. The bathtub and shower were older than anything else in the bathroom and there were small amounts of mold in the new caulk.

Not the worst hotel in the world. It was clean, close to restaurants and Lloyd Center and right at the MAX and just a short walk to the arena. For a last minute quick trip it's an okay place to stay. Don't stay here if you are truly vacationing. There aren't enough amenities to make it worth a real vacation. Also, the is odd heating, when it's over 55 degrees outside the air conditioning is turned on. There's no real control of the temperature in your room. I was fine because it was a beautiful spring weekend. I might stay here again for a quick shopping trip. ...read more
