Hotel Guest Reviews of the Red Roof Inn Chicago Downtown

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

A good, clean downtown budget hotel. Location excellent. Room small but comfortable.
No

This is a budget hotel in the middle of everything for downtown Chicago in the lower Miracle Mile area. I had a king-size bed in one small room with chest of drawers and a small desk. Bathroom adequate and clean, as was the rest of the room. Public space small. Staff friendly, efficient. I really only needed them for check-in and check-out. Walls are thin, so I heard running water from other rooms but just brief people noise. Would definitely stay here again for my yearly trip to Chicago. ...read more

Location, Cleanliness was fine. Some staff were nice, some grumpy, TV didn't work, they took whole day to fix it, Overall Ok.
Hot water was not at all hot, we struggled in the early spring without hot water. No microwaves in the room makes it difficult. They took time to provide service.

An Ok hotel to stay essentially for the fantastic location, right at the heart of downtown.

Location
Does need updating but had read these reviews prior to our visit. Reservation stated free wi fi but the room we had did not offer this. Also did not have coffee in lobby available.

This was simply a place to stay for us while our son is in the hospital. It would not be a place I would want to stay and feel like I was there to relax. I would want it a bit nicer. But great location for walking to dinner, hospital, sites.

I loved the location!! It was right where you want to be!
The rooms were a little small but overall a great place to stay!!

Even though the rooms are small the location and staff make up for the small rooms!! The price is right!! I will definitely be staying here again!!

BEST location ever!!!
The parking situation is a little complicated but this is a citywide issue, not just about this hotel

Nice hotel, great price and superb location

The hotel is located in a FANTASTIC area just off of Michigan Avenue across the street from Garrett Popcorn.
The room was very small, as was the bathroom. Because the bathroom was so small the bathroom door opened out. Because of where the door was, you couldn't open the door to the hallway if the bathroom door was open.

The hotel staff was nice, the hotel was clean enough; the location is what was fabulous. Just for the location, I'd stay there again. However, even with 2 full size beds, this room would be way too small for any more than 2 adults per room. The floor space was very limited, there was no desk, etc., so there was very little room for our 2 suitcases to sit on the floor along the wall. ...read more

Location
Small bathroom, old/dingy room.

Good location, although room and bathroom are below average. I would lower expectations if planning to stay here.

Great location and
clean hotel.
Terrible water pressure and
hot shower was barely a trickle.

Good: The location and the price of this hotel were great. The staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. The place was clean. Bad- The water pressure in the shower was horrible and
barely a trickle. The blankets were paper-thin, and the heater rattled -- so you either turn off the heat and wear a sweater to bed or wake up every 15 minutes when the heater goes off.
