I am not a picky traveler. I like simple and clean, that is it. This place had trash stacked up, beer bottles everywhere, lurking tenants and our AC did not work. It was too late at night to bother with switching rooms.

Do not stay here! My son has asthma and I could not stay here. I looked at two separate rooms - and each one was filthy. The sheets and blankets were torn and stained and covered a stained mattress that didn't have anything other than the bottom sheet covering it. There was mold and mildew covering the ceiling of the bathroom in one of the rooms and cobwebs everywhere. The floors had not been vacuumed either. There bathroom tub had mold as well and some of the tiles were cracked and or missing and had mold growing in the cracks. The woman at the front desk agreed that neither room was not up to standard and promised not to charge me since I never really checked in - but now of course she has conveniently forgotten and she charged my card anyway. It doesn't really matter at any rate - I figure that I would rather lose money then risk my son having an asthma attack or risking getting bedbugs. I recommend the Econolodge down the street. It wasn't luxurious, but it was spotless clean and the people that run it are wonderful. ...

size and a smokey, smelly rm. 1st Clerk was friendly and helpful, moved me ASAP.
at 3:00 AM. I checked out. 2nd clerk says sorry. No offer to move me.
Steps, stairways and ice area floor was dirty with spills. Lobby & rms r ok. I was uncomfortable with loaded car being left out. There were several young men running around
at 3:00 AM. The beer drinkers next to me were in the room, but continued to be loud. I was not comfortable asking the clerk to approach the big loud drinkers next to me. So, I left. She did give me the cheaper walk in rate instead of the reservation rate. ...

While the hotel is clean and it felt safe to stay at, there were a few frustrating points of my stay. Two Actually. I only stayed one night and on the morning of my departure is when the issues began. I couldn't get the shower to work. I went to the front desk and told the clerk. A maintenance person followed me to the room to check the shower. There were no issues, but it took a little more than a gentle tug to get the water started. While speaking with him, I left the door open (I am female and feel safer without the door closed), a women is walking her small dog. The dog comes into my room and starts running in circles. She is standing 20 ft from my door yelling to the dog (still in my room). Finally, the dog squats and starts peeing on my carpet. The woman still does NOT come in my room. Finally, I told her to come get the dog. She took the dog and left. The maintenance man ignored the dog and the discussion and walked out the door. I was left to clean up dog urine. Then about 9:30am, the clerk knocks on my door to remind me that check out time is 11am. I know this. Thank you. I felt it was very rude to come to my door like that, especially since the maintenance guy decided that he wasn't going to anything about the dog urine. Very frustrating. ...

While convenience is important for me in finding an appropriate hotel, working services are far more important, therefore I would dare say anyone needing Internet access should never stay at Red Roof Inn Spartanburg.

First room had stained sheets and dirty Kleenex's in neatly made bed. Upon complaining and having to convince front desk to move us we went to room that smelled like it wasn't used or opened in months. At least 25 school buses running in the hotel parking lot and next door woke us up early

Do not stay here, you are not saving anything by choosing the Red Roof Inn. Dirty, rude, ran down.

I had a somewhat pleasant experience there. Free breakfast always does it for me. However, I wouldn't recommend sleeping many nights on their beds. I'm sure they'll take care of that problem in the near future.
