Hotel Guest Reviews of the Riu Plaza Panama
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. I was very impressed with this hotel, especially with the price I paid. The excellent free breakfast buffet was also great. The location is not necessarily in the center of the action, but it is close enough where a taxi is not too bad. Also had a great view of the city from my room. Pool was so-so, but it was clean and nicely decorated. Room service was not too expensive either. Hotel is located in the financial area of the city, so finding an ATM was extremely easy. ...

The hotel exceeded my expectations. The hotel is comfortable and elegant, the staff at the restaurant and the pool were fantastic. The WiFi internet connection was great. My children slept on the sofa sleeper which they claim to be the most comfortable bed they have ever slept on! We had actually stayed at another hotel in the Banking area which we thought was comfortable enough, but the Riu is where we will stay if and when we return to Panama City.

The Riu Plaza is a great hotel - gracious, attentive staff, fun retro decor, very very attractive pool and café area and a breakfast that is probably among the finest I have ever had (with very attentive wait staff and marvelous outdoor seating if the temps are not to high). I love this place.

Nice hotel, nice location. when I asked for assistance from the staff on several things, I felt like they were thinking "oh god another gringo". Other than that I had a nice stay.

Fancy new high rise hotel in downtown Panama City. Grand and beautiful, very modern lobby and public spaces. Rooms are modern, decor is eccentric. Colors vary, our room was mostly purple which was a bit odd. Highlight was the free breakfast - HUGE buffet with everything you could imagine for breakfast (from French toast to eggs benedict to nachos to fancy cheese to fresh kiwis). Another highlight was the very nice pool with swanky pool bar.
Main downside was the bathroom in our room - it wasn't as clean as I would like (the garbage pail had grime in it and there was at least one long hair on the floor). The sinks did not drain properly, and it wasn't possible to get all the water to come out the shower head when taking a shower (some of the water would continue to come out of the tub faucet). ...
