Hotel Guest Reviews of the Royal Sonesta Hotel New Orleans

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The balcony over looking Bourbon St. really made us feel we were apart of the French Quarter. It was awesome!

Great rooms and facilities
My request to warm up a sealed package of Lean Cuisine (which I was giving to my dog) in a microwave oven, was turned down. They cited sanitary and contamination issues! The extra charge of $75.00 for the dog was for cleaning only??

Great dining but go early as everything closes up at 10.00PM.

The hotel was very nice & the location was excellent! BUT....it was an additional $81 for TWO DAYS of parking! Then we came home to find a xxx
change out of our bank acct. & we are still waiting for them to call back & refund the money!!!
The staff was not friendly at all! We called to see which street to enter the garage & the lady said " Umm in the parking garage" & hung up the phone! She didn't even understand the question nor did she give us a chance to get an answer!

Fantastic location, cool room with a balcony facing Bourbon St which was a bit noisy but worth it for the experience. Staff was extremely helpful.

Very clean, great location.
The greeting/door staff (specifically the guy) at the jazz club that is included in the hotel was one of the most uninviting people ever. If you have a jazz club with an open door, and the music can be heard, don't be rude when people stop to peek

Overall, the stay at the hotel was great. My priceline experience has left a little to be desired though. This was the first time I've used priceline. Reservations went clean and easy. After checking out though I noticed that not only had priceline charged me, but hotel had too! Worst part of it was that was the hotel charged me was actually CHEAPER than what priceline charged. In regards to the hotel though, I would recommend it. Overall location is great. ...read more

The staff was really friendly and helpful. This beautiful hotel is located in the heart of the French Quarter on Bourbon St. and is easily accessible if you want to go back to your room to rest, forgot something or leave shopping bags.

This was my 3rd stay in this hotel. I love it for its location but also because it is really nice inside. There is a pool with a poolside bar if you want to hang and relax. The hotel has a lounge with jazz music in the evenings and another bar accessible from the outside as well as an oyster bar. There are also conference rooms available and a coffee shop.

Location, privacy on a busy street, clean room, in-room safe. Parking felt secure.
Wanted two queen beds, but they accommodated with a cot. Beds were not as comfy as they looked, and didn't compare to similar hotel bedding. Would have liked a little bigger room and bath. Price for parking was outrageous!

Beautiful hotel in prime location. You feel secure once you step into the lobby from Bourbon St. Rooms were clean and housekeeping was very accomodating. I loved being able to walk everywhere in the French Quarter, and make it back to the hotel after partying without worry about driving.

We could not sleep due to the noise from the bar opposite our room. The hotel refused to change our room. The towel rack in the bathroom was on the floor. The maid did not replace the glasses after the first night.

Do not stay here unless you are guaranteed a room not on the Bourbon Street side. Why does the hotel not install double glazing to minimise the sound?
