Hotel Guest Reviews of the Royal Windsor Motel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The hotel was only a ten minute drive from downtown. The room was the cheapest in the area. The staff was friendly.
The room was outdated and dirty.

If you are looking for a cheap room, this is your place. The staff was friendly and it was only a ten minute drive from downtown Windsor. However, the room was outdated and dirty.

The room was very clean
Check in area stunk of curry, staff got nasty and yelled at my husband when he asked for extra towels, changed our room & moved our stuff when we were out without our permission, didn't clean our room on the first day

I like the fact that it was exceptionally clean, but I didn't feel like smelling curry in the checkout area all weekend. The old man that was looking after the desk needs to be taught professionalism, especially if this is his business. When we arrived, he came to the desk in a sloppy tank type undershirt and didn't seem to know what was going on. The first night we aked for extra towels and there was no problem, but the next day when we did (I like to use 2 and my husband usually takes a bath at night to relax and a shower in the morning), the old man yelled at my husband that he gave him some the night before and came at him in a threatening manner. We got the towels, but that scene could have been avoided. Our room was also not cleaned up on the first day we were there and when we inquired about it, we were told that we had the 'do not disturb' sign up when they went through. I wouldn't stay there again because of the attitude of the staff. ...read more

We needed a clean and inexpensive place to sleep and it met our needs. If we need to stay in Windsor again we would likely choose this hotel because of the cost.

location
the smell

We booked a room with 2 queen beds and a kitchenette, the picture showed two bed and a small cooking area. When we got there the room had two beds with a microwave on top of a mini fridge. Owners kids and friends played around the vehicles so I was constantly looking out the window to ensure nothing has happened to my vehicle. The hotel smelled of Indian spices and body odor. The rooms had an overpowering smell of an airwick to cover up the smell of the room...we had to crack a window and turn on AC to air it out. We saw the staff once when we checked in none after that. The room served our purpose for a cheap stay to save money but I think I will look else next time. However one saving grace was that the bathroom was very clean. ...read more

Convenient parking, and shopping nearby. Reasonable priced.
Didn't know how to access to it, and their Motel Sign needs to be more visible from the road.

Reasonable price to stay there. Face of motel very atractive, parking area good. Clean inside room, bed was comfortable. Equipped with fridge, stove, and microwave.

Clean friendly good location to Ambassador Bridge. Good price.

The hotel is very clean and the grounds kept well. The staff friendly and can not beat it for the price. Good location when traveling to USA.
