Hotel Guest Reviews of the San Diego Marriott La Jolla

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The staff was very pleasant and accommodating.
the hotel was under construction, the front entry was half way blocked to enter. There was carpet rolled out in front of the hotel making it difficult to pull in. There were detours to the rooms with dust everywhere on the floors by the elevators.

The room overall had just been remodeled and was nice. The staff was very pleasant, and was helpful with anything you needed. Had the hotel not been under construction, it would have been a nice play to stay.

The rooms were great.. Staff was soooo friendly ... Location was wonderful. I enjoyed my stay so much I added an extra night!
I know people complained about the construction but honestly it really wasn't bad at all.. And the hotel comped my Internet for the inconvenience of te construction.. It was a slight eye sore but it didn't interrupt my stay whatsoever ..

The hotel is undergoing renovation, so I was lucky to have a 'new' room and enjoy free wifi in the room (because the lobby is closed for construction).
The soundproof is REALLY poor, I can hear people laugh/scream in the surrounding rooms, and was annoyed by the slamming door noise.

Pros: 1) rooms are clean (and newly renovated) 2) nice gym and outdoor pool 3) friendly staffs Cons: 1) The entrance of the hotel is hard to find/signage is not clear 2) bad soundproof in the room

Staff very helpful, they helped us fax some documents for a medical emergency. Rooms were renovated and looked great, best mattress and pillows. Lobby still under construction, therefore public spaces were poor. Parking fee $20 per day.
Lobby under renovation, public spaces.

CONVENIENT LOCATION. WALKING DISTANCE TO RESTAURANTS
HOTEL UNDERGOING RENOVATIONS IN LOBBY. SLOW ELEVATORS. POOR INSULATION; COULD HEAR THE TV IN THE NEIGHBORING ROOM.

Great size room and very clean. The bed was tuck away comfortable.
A lot of construction going on so not a luxury site that you would expect in La Jolla. Plus the entrance hard to find off the street.

Hotel itself was great. Close to freeway, the UCSD, and shopping and dining.
Construction was being performed in the lover levels of the hotel, but did not affect my 14th floor stay. There is a parking charge of $20 per night, but following an inquiry, the hotel staff dropped the rate to $10 per night.

Overall, the hotel was a pleasant experience. If you are looking to stay at the beach, this is not close, but 4 miles away. However, if you want something nearby, driving distance, and with great access to the freeway, close to restruants, shopping mall, and clean quiet rooms, you may have found your spot. Just be aware that parking costs.

Staff was very accommodating, friendly and alert, rooms were very clean and above basic. Buffet food was above average
This is the ONLY HOTEL that DID NOT HAVE REFRIGERATORS IN THE ROOMS. Had to call the front desk and request one be brought to the room, extremely strange! This accommodation is in every hotel except this one.

The CHARGING FOR DAILY PARKING AS A GUEST IS BOTH AN INSULT AND OUTRAGEOUS! I could see charging visitors a small fee, but NOT VALIDATING A HOTEL GUEST FOR STAYING THEIR IS A COMPLETE RIP-OFF...I would feel differently if this was a hotel in a major city that had no parking, but this was not the case here.

Rooms are nice, clean, and efficient.
Hotel restaurant is EXTREMELY slow and relatively expensive. Also, parking is $20/night self-parking or $25/night valet.
