Hotel Guest Reviews of the Sanctuary Hotel New York

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The level of service provided by ALL of the staff was very impressive. Not over the top or too much. Every request was taken care of and given 100% of their attention to us.
The room was small but we knew that going in.

Overall it was a great experience. the hotel is in a great location for Time Square and Central Park. Even a short walk to Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall. The service was excellent from the door man, front desk, concierge, to luggage service.

Sanctuary has a wonderfully modern look, extremely helpful staff, & a great location by theaters and Time Square.
The rooms are small, but this is NYC. Sanctuary's rooms have a romantic feel. The location is amazing. Once you park your car, you won't need it. Subway access is down the block too. Continental breakfast was helpful start to the day.

My wife and I stayed at Sanctuary as part business and part vacation. It was stellar. Try to get on the top floor, 9. The rooms are a little bigger, and the taller ceilings might feature a chandelier like ours did! The continental breakfast is simple, but very nice perk. The lobby is as nice and modern as the pictures look. While you most likely won't have a great view from your window in your hotel, the rooftop bar is really cool spot to enjoy before a night out. The parking garage across the street will be about $40 a day after the discount of the hotel's stamp. This location is a block away from Times Square and Broadway plays. It's a 20 minute walk to Central Park. (Quick tip: The Dervish Mediterranean restaurant on the block is really good, too, especially if you like vegetarian dishes.) The only hard part for us was not being able to check-in early. The staff went out of their way to get me in a free room to shower before my gig, and then they moved my baggage to our actual room while I was gone. This staff is very accommodating. Some past reviews complain about spotty Internet. The Internet was fine during my stay. Do note, you need to re-check in the password every time you turn on your computer's browser. Other past reviews mentioned "no hot water!" I need to point out when you are in NYC, and occasionally a nearby construction problem will happen. That can happen at any hotel. This is a perfect hotel for a romantic get-away. ...read more

The hotel was in a good location. Close to Times Square. The staff were friendly. The concierge Jacob was awesome at helping us find good places to eat and visit.
I wish I knew how small the bathroom was. Only one mirror for three people. Made getting ready a bit long.

Ask for a room that doesn't overlook the fed ex building. It was very noisy in the am. Every day.

Great location, reasonably priced, very helpful staff. They upgraded me to what they said was a king room because, for whatever reason, the queen room that I had reserved was no longer available.
The king room, which they said was the biggest room they offer, was a little small but not uncomfortably so. If I had been in the queen room that I originally reserved, the room size might have been a problem.

A very nice boutique hotel, very conveniently located. A nice, fresh but modest breakfast buffet included in the room price.

It was really a great all around experience. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was top notch, yet comfortable and inviting.
We had some difficulties with the room keys going bad, but it was soon determined it had to with keeping them alongside credit cards, or something like that.

Friendly staff members.
Bathroom door didn't latch shut.

Very clean, friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast was alright nothing special. The room is small but a good size for one or two people. Perfect spot if you're adventuring through the city it's close to everything.
