Hotel Guest Reviews of the Sapphire Beach Resort

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

You cannot beat the location of this hotel, literally touching the beach and 20 feet away from the water. Great two-story villa that had a kitchen and two bathrooms. Came with free daily chair rentals and snorkel equipment.
There was an added resort fee when checking in, but this is often the case at beach resorts. Also, it advertised free breakfast and internet but neither were options.

Such an amazing location for whatever the festivities were. Each unit in the buildings are the same layout but they are privately owned, thus they have different amenities. Our unit was nice but didn't have new hardwood floors or kitchen appliances or anything, but we weren't there for that. We were there for the beautiful beach where you see shark island and St. John's in the distance. Redhook is only a mile away and you can catch the $1 taxi up the hill on the main road. The beach is not overly busy, but there can a few more people there when a cruise is in port. The restaurant/store in the building are still closed from damage but all of the condos look beautiful! I recommend going to a food store when in town and buying things to make breakfast/lunch in the unit because there are not many food options around there. Usually had to catch the taxi to another location for dinner. ...read more

Near American Yatch Harbour Marina.
Not clean, not friendly staff, poor food quality and
difficult taxi service.

I don't like it!

On the beach.
No Internet, and poor breakfast.

The location is great. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful while others appeared disinterested. The breakfast staff would allow milk on cereal but no glass of milk.

It was a place to spend the night.
Unclean room, not suited for families.

Check in was disorderly. The main "office" for this resort was in a guest room in unit A of the resort. The room was dirty; things did not work well. Technically, it was probably "cleaned," but just not attractive and seemed unclean. No restaurants that we saw except a bar that may not have been part of the resort and one little kiosk-type beach bar between units B and C. Overall, this was a pretty run down resort. ...read more

Nothing - the hotel is not maintained, and very poor shape.
Maintenance poor, no food or drink other than a roadside type beach bar. Staff lazy.

Great location.
No internet, broken toaster, stale breakfast, broken light bulbs, broken safe locker, poor & unfriendly customer service, no late check-out.

Great beach, location was good and close to red hook.
Hotel room was disgusting and very outdated.

The room was bad! The views and locations were great.

It could be a lot better,
a lot, better if updates happened.
Didn't get new towels the whole time I was there. I felt the bed was dirty and a long w/ room.

This hotel from the outside looks fabulous. On the inside, you get totally let down from what could be offered. The beach is gorgeous, the pool is gorgeous, but for the amount of money that goes into this place I feel updates need to be made. I get that the economy has hit this place pretty hard. But with necessary updates, come larger charges. If it weren't for the views and the company I was with I would of rather of slept on the beach. There are "caution signs" along with buildings that aren't finished being built (just looks like a dump). And, we felt the area was deserted. Where is the restaurant, the entertainment, the bars.... the "restaurant" was a little cabana that I didn't feel comfortable eating any of their food or drink. ...read more
