Hotel Guest Reviews of the Shalimar Resort
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.November 12, 2012

Not sure what decade it was that this was rightfully called a "resort" but probably not since TV was invented. Very dated look and the "lakeview" room? Yeah, stand on your tiptoes and try and see the water. Yeah, that's a "lakeview". Staff was friendly but this is one tired-looking hotel.

Overall one of the best places we ran across for the price. We were very pleased with nice friendly staff and the overall cleanliness of the hotel. Little disappointed at first from the description we read when booking it, we were expecting to be right next to a lake (not across the street) and with a private porch instead of a shared one.

In no way was this any sort of resort. The view of the lake was laughable - across a busy road off in the distance; no lake access to speak of, all land near the lake was private. Rooms face an extremely busy and loud road. The noise goes on all night and early in the am. Asked for an upper floor room at check-in, the person behind the desk just rudely grunted no. The rooms are very dated, but are well maintained and clean. As all rooms are non-smoking, guests smoke outside the rooms, and the smoke smell gets into the rooms that way, usually late at night. Guests talk outside rooms and drink well into the night, and many can be heard stampeding around the hallways, shouting at all hours, slamming doors. Very unsettling and annoying. There is a pool that looks a bit pond-like, a sauna that looks grubby, a gaming room with a ping-pong table, pinball machines, and a 1980's video game, Pole Position! Most of this is dated also and not particularly impressive. The rooms are overpriced for what is basically a cheap, road-side motel - definitely not a resort. If you can afford the other reputable hotels in the Tilton area, or a proper resort in the area, avoid this establishment. I would have given it no stars, but they do try to keep the place clean and tidy.

am handicapped and they got me a room that was very convenient to parking.
Nice friendly staff, comfortable room and ideal for seeing the fine sights in the Lakes area of New Hampshire.

I just stated over night on a business trip. Hospitable staff, room was average, but the pool, restaurant, and scenery make it a great bargain for the price.
