Hotel Guest Reviews of the Smyth - A Thompson Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

It was clean and had a nice bathroom.
I thought it would be closer to Soho.

Clean pretty quiet little hotel. Close to the world trade center.

The rooms were great - great bed, great view.
The bar area - too small, crowded and pricey.

Comfy bed.
They charge for everything.

The bellmen are nice and the beds are comfy. Other than that this hotel is just ok. It's located on the edge of Tribeca bordering the financial district - not a fab location. They also charged for services that other boutique hotels usually don't charge for - internet, telephone. Checking out late was an issue too. A word of advice, don't bother checking in on Foursquare. They have no clue what their marketing department is doing - we fought to redeem any offers. ...read more

Great location, HUGE room, very clean, helpful staff.

We were extremely happy with the Smyth Thompson Tribeca. We arrived 5 hours before check in and were lucky enough that a room happened to be ready and they gave it to us early at no cost! The rooms are HUGE for NYC, easily 500 sq ft. The staff were so friendly and helpful - I would recommend this hotel to anyone and look forward to staying there again in the future.

Very trendy hotel that is very accommodating to changes. Small, intimate hotel in a great location.
Smaller rooms but consistent with NYC standards, poor cell phone service in hotel, and pay for internet use.

This was my second stay at the Smyth. I love the small intimate feel of the hotel. The staff is very friendly and upgraded our room without extra charge to accommodate our teenage daughter. The restaurant Plein Sud is wonderful and a great place to hang out for a drink. the bartenders are very welcoming and friendly. the price was very good value for the experience as long as you like to stay in Tribeca. Parking is expensive at $55/day. The location is great as there is many restaurants, bars and shops in walking distance. We felt very safe walking around the hotel at night. I would highly recommend it. It was good enough for the film star to stay there and film their show from the penthouse. However, your room will be much smaller then theirs! ...read more
