Hotel Guest Reviews of the Sun Suites Of New Orleans

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The staff was very friendly but the cleaning staff did not seem to care about their job as the room was very dirty when we arrived.
Was not clean. Had hair in the bathroom from the last people that stayed there. When we arrived the cleaning staff was talking and smoking outside of the room 2 doors down from us. Probably explained why it was not clean when we got there.

I would not stay there again!

The location was within walking distance of several eating establishments, movie theater and Walmart.
Pretty much everything.

Location was near Hwy and was within walking distance of several restaurants, movie theater and walmart. Elevator was noisy, grinding, squeeling, knocking, rocking- literally scared the bejezus out of me, took stairs after the first ride. Door to room was misaligned requiring slams to close, carpet nasty looking like u see at the IHOP. Beds were old and sagging like swayback mares, with material on boxsprings torn and hanging from bed frames. Old analog tube TVs that had limited channel selection, half of which had a high pitched whine in the audio making them unwatchable except on mute. Microwave was old, with re-glued on handle and was missing turn-table plate on the inside. Refrigerator was new however. Bathroom sink cabinets were visably rotted on the outside, with a bloated appearance at floor and multiple holes. The plastic trim around base of wall had come unglued and was standing in place away from the cabinet and wall. The AC/Heat unit worked but the button was broken, leaving you guessing as to what setting you were truly on. The filter was new but the smell from the air coming out made us gag. Good thing we brought lysol spray freshener. We stayed on a Thursday night and the room was not serviced on Friday like previous guests have commented. We are glad that the second night was our last. ...read more

price was great, location was good, area was okay, staff a little unenergetic, had to wait on clean towels, beds are too hard, old mattresses maybe, but overall the stay was pleasant---I would recommend the hotel to others.

The linens and towels were clean.
The carpets was wet and there were roaches in the kitchen

Considering it was a national chain, I truly had higher expectations of the room. The kitchen was dated and the cupboards didn't close right. The dishes provided were cracked. There were roaches crawling in the kitchen and bathroom. Something, either the fridge or the sink, was leaking. The carpet was damp enough to get my socks wet, and the air conditioner wasn't really working. It blew air, but didn't get cool. In the plus column, the bed was confortable and the linens were clean. The staff was fairly nice, though my complaint about the bugs was met with the comment, "We'll tell housekeeping." ...read more

The hotel has enough facility to be a potential for a good hotel.
The room was not clean. Non-smoking rooms smell smoke. The rooms walls are so thin that you hear neibors and they hear you.

I had the worst experience of staying in a hotel in the U.S. in about 6 years. The room didn't meet the minimum standard conditions. It was supposed to be a non-smoking but it smelled so much smoke that we couldn't sleep all night. The room next to us was noisy and the room walls are so thin that it was like they live in your room. The staff didn't take any actions about the related problems. This hotel doesn't meet the minimum standards and should be taken off from the Priceline list. ...read more

They provided extra pillows when requested.
The road work left us having to make u-turns to get to it.

The night clerk was extremely helpful when I requested to change rooms.
The cleaning personnel lacked towels, no iron or board in rooms, also lacked ice buckets, all standard to most hotels.

Although this hotel had many small issues concerning a guest friendly environment, I would say the most a egregious was upon entering our room and pulling back the covers on the bed, we noticed alongside the box spring what appeared to be blood stains.

I liked the fact that it was close to our family houses and most of the staff was very friendly. It also provided us with a kitchennett.
The assistant manager Mr. Jimmie Jones was very rude, unprofessional. I noticed how he did special rate reductions as long as he was given cash.

The stay was nice and very convenient. The problem was that if one employee quotes a price for extra days, that should be the price. No one should up the price because of not receiving extra cash to be placed in their pockets. Don't they receive a pay check?

Absolutely nothing!
The filthy bathroom and unwashed linens.

The room was filthy and unsanitary, there were bodily secretions clearly visible on the carpet and the bathroom floor. The linens were unclean and old. There were solicitors of all types inside and outside of the hotel, selling many illegal substances and services. When I approached management I was at first met with resistance, but later I was obliged with a new room that was slightly more clean and sanitary. The customer service was lackluster at best. I never regained my sense of security in terms of safety and comfort-ability. I will never stay at this place again, nor will I recommend to anyone I know. Highly disappointed and thoroughly disgusted! ...read more
