Super 8 Dekalb Il

I only stayed here because it was (I thought) the last room available in that town. Despite being a non-smoking room, the entire hallway (all non-smoking rooms) reeked of smoke, strangely, the rooms did not. The room was not nice or particularly clean. The staff was pleasant enough, but for the XXX I paid for it, I expected a lot, lot more.

Overall, excellent. Prospective guests shouldn't expect it to be super-quiet, but otherwise it's a very good choice at a very reasonable price.

Ask for new sheets Make sure wifi is working No elevator breakfast is minimal in selection, plus no waffle maker, no hard boiled eggs very close to freeway, but quiet.

The over all of the hotel it self was ok.
Like I said I did not like the fact that
I had to pull my luggage up steps, If missed step straight down
I would have went.

Convenient to interstate but rooms are very outdated and neglected. Old bedding, scratched furniture. Hallway had strong odor of cigarettes. Rooms have no soundproofing.

The front desk clerk was very friendly. He was there as we checked in (8pm), and there as we ate breakfast. He wiped the floor as we left for the day and was there again Monday am. Could not get my laptop to connect even with help from the desk clerk who was a young woman. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet on the 2nd night. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I would sleep in my car before I would stay there again. I can't believe the health dept. Hasn't shut this place down.

I was very disappointed that Priceline called this a 2 star hotel. It was dirty and the breakfast was either two types of cold cereal or anything that could be put in a toaster. My son had team mates who stayed at a Baymont 2 miles away -- also a 2 star hotel, which was much nicer -- and cleaner, and actually had hot food for breakfast.
