Hotel Guest Reviews of the Super 8 Motel - Altoona
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.May 6, 2013

Offered free breakfast of cereal, coffee, tea juice, yogurt, toast, fresh fruit of oranges/bananas from 6-11am. TV on news in common area. Coffee/Tea/Hot water available 24/7. Parking easy. GPS location off. Didn't visit all hotel amenities. Had soda machine, ice machine. Wireless access in common area. Great for the price if you just need a place to sleep, shower and traveling to Penn State for graduation. Aim for another room, not the one designated for the disabled. Disabled room labeled as for Handicapped (not most politically correct); was on the first floor, next to exit door. Much more noise due to comings and goings. Also close to front lobby if you need anything. ...

The hotel is located very close to downtown Altoona including the Logan malls and several restaurants. It was very close to the highway 99 and to the Veterans Home.

Beds were full size not queen! Smelled of smoke everywhere in the hotel! Loud scummy people wandering the hotel at all hours. Even the hotel staff stood outside the door and smoked all the time. Breakfast was extremely limited and even though they offered cereal if you actually found milk to put in it then it was a lucky day. No irons/ironing boards. The desk had them but the miniature ironing board was so small it was hard to iron and adult sized shirt. I stayed here because of the price and I've been trying to hop around to different hotels but this one wasn't worth the price cut and Priceline! I asked for two stars minimum and this was about 1/2 star on a good day! ...

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I have stayed in several other hotels in this area, for this price ( and lower ) and this was disgraceful compared to them. I realize it is an older building, but cleanliness and customer service should be a given at any price.

I have stayed in a 4 star hotel that did not cost me as much as staying in this hotel, there was no extras on site, just a stinky room with nothing to do but go into town or order in from the local pizza shop. This hotel probably would be ok for workers staying out of town for their job but not families trying to have fun.

this is a basic Super 8 - you get what you pay for. Unfortunately, because there are smoking rooms in the hotel, the whole hotel smells of smoke, including the non-smoking rooms. I would not stay there again for that reason. A basic breakfast was included in the price, which was a nice surprise, and it was right by the highway, which was convenient.
