Super 8 Motel - Arcata

You get what you pay for.

If you need a cheap place to sleep for a couple of hours its great,but I would not plan a weekend get away based on staying here with my wife. Some of the people walking around in this part of town at night looked shady! Was wondering if my tire changing equipment and snow chains were still going to be in the back of my truck the next morning. They were!

I was charged at $131.54 (USD) for 2 rooms ie US$ 65.77/room by Priceline but the hotel bills show US$52.4/room including service fee & tax. This means I have been charged for 25.5% service fees from your company which I had not been notified in advance. Was great for what we were looking for.

I was robbed by the employees of this motel 8, I left behind my shaving kit which had a gold ring and necklace in it when i returned to pick it up 3 days later the shaving kit was returned but the jewelery had been stolen while it was in the care of the motel and its employees.

The hotel was very dirty, the breakfast for the following day was being held in room with the hallway door open and in very dirty shape. I had to report a hole in our bathroom door as not to be blamed for it. The lobby was getting a new floor until 11:30 pm. I had knocks on my door after 11pm and had to call the front desk. The parking lot was so shady I parked in the lobby receiving area. The door to the outside was left wide open providing no security. In short, unlike most Super 8's was a dump.

Great value and convenient location.

Good.

This was the worst hotel I have ever booked. We could not stay there. The lobby and every room was smoke filled. We cancelled our reservation and found a nice alternate next door.
