Hotel Guest Reviews of the Super 8 Motel - Eureka
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.November 30, 2011

I have always been a cheap motel traveler and can handle the simple/low end amenities they offer. That said, this was truly the worst motel experience I have ever had. The most challenging part were the beds. We had two queens in the room and tried both, but they were uncomfortable to the point of both me and my spouse waking up multiple times in the night because a hand had fallen asleep from lack of circulation or we had a pain in our back or neck. We sleep on a futon at home and are not spoiled by good beds, so this was truly an absurd lack of comfort. The next challenge was the neighboring room. The occupant had visitors throughout the night each night we were there. A new knock at the door with some conversation occurred about every hour or so. My presumption is that they were dealing out of the room (I speak as a trained Child Welfare worker who has experience in this area) but I cannot be certain of that. The final issue was the carpet in the room. It was not just stained, but matted down in areas with various colors of stain that were rather foul looking. Normally I would write this off as "cheap motel funk" but this time I ended up with a rash on my feet that I attribute to walking across that carpet barefoot during our four day stay.
I strongly recommend that the star level of this motel be downgraded to 1 star, consistent with their amenities and room quality. I also would not recommend that anyone stay here. ...

Wife thought it was a business location for local action. All night talk outside, with doors opening and shutting.

The wifi was horrible and it kept kicking me off. This hotel has no ac and you have to have the windows open. I was on the 1st floor on a busy street.

Hotel location was great. The room itself lacks desire due to the lack of climate control... also there were no screen in the window... swimming pool looked more like a swamp! staff was friendly.

Next time I will just sleep in my truck. The Super 8 website says "truck and bus parking" this is the whole reason I pocked this dump. But once I got there I found out that is a lie. They have you sign a paper explaining there is no AC because of the climate, yet the windows don't have screens on them. My favorite part was the puke on the toilet.

It's clean and the desk staff are nice. However the furnishings and the building itself are quite old/worn, and were low quality even when new. The location is in the main Eureka tourist strip, convenient to restaurants.

Overall okay, you pay for what you get, felt a little over priced, but alright.
