Super 8 Motel - North Bergen Nj/NYC Area

Reasonable distance from NYC, but you will not feel safe sleeping the night here. Anywhere else would be an upgrade.

Shuttle into the city $3/person one way; trip into city drop off at Port Authority; beware that the shuttle back to hotel- you get dropped off in a shady part about 2 blocks from the hotel. Free breakfast 6-9am - cereal, juice, waffle maker, coffee, toast, donuts (not amazing, but hey it was free). Walls are paper thin so your neighbors sound like they're in the same room as you. Customer service is okay. (We had booked a non-smoking room but were given smoking rooms. When we contested, they stated the computers showed smoking. The rooms we were given didn't smell like smoke, so it was fine. Good distance from the city so convenient. We booked in NJ as hotels are cheaper than in the city, but with the amount we spent in shuttle fees (9 people) it may have been cheaper to stay in the city... The price was lower than other motels. Access was horrible going in out of the parking lot. It was fairly close to New York City and there was a bus that stops near the motel for people going there.

Great front desk attitude. The rooms ARE NOT how they are described AT ALL. If you can put up with rooms that do NOT appear clean enough to take a shower, but want to be close to Manhattan without Manhattan prices, then this is the place for you!

Very quiet inside room when outside noise traffic is busy. Nice window shades and keeps room dark in morning. Good free breakfast. Working toilet and exhaust in a smoking room a super plus! The linens and overall smell in room was fresh and not of smoke. Great size HD flat TV. Great free home made Belgian waffles and breakfast! Would stay again for sure!
