Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Carolina Inn

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location, atmosphere, cleanliness and
service were all outstanding.
The wireless Internet connection quality was abysmal. So slow as to be almost unusable.

Rooms and hallways are beautiful - great design.
Check-in clerk seemed rude.

Romantic historic hotel is great for a getaway. Just make sure to request an interior room, as the hotel is ringed by busy streets.

Excellent service and you are on the UNC campus. Make sure you get your cookies at check in!

Stayed here while visiting UNC with our daughter. Would definitely stay here again.

The front desk staff were the friendliest and most helpful that I have ever come across. Will most definitely return.
Our room looked a litted taggered. Could use a little maintenance update.

The Carolina Inn is in the perfect location to visit Chapel Hill. Situated right at the entrance of UNC, and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Even during the evening, we felt safe walking around the neighborhood. The staff of the hotel is professional, helpful and very considerate. Without stressing the point, I mentioned in passing it was my son's 17th birthday, and while we were out, they sent up a fruit and cheese plate for him. A very thoughtful gesture on their part. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chapel Hill. Definitely 4 stars! (we did not eat in the restaurant, so I can not comment on the dining). ...read more

The hotel was beautiful, but the room was really not up to 4 star standards. The bed was creaky, the shower was cracked and moldy.

location was good.
Did not meet my expectation of a 4 star hotel. 3 star maybe.....

Nice hotel with thin walls ( you can hear everything) . Cleanliness was okay, found a silverfish in the room.

Everything was amazing!
Overnight parking was $12 but it's a college campus and they let us keep the car there even after we checked out.

Felt great to stay at the Carolina Inn as an alumni. Great hotel and staff. Would definitely stay again. Wish it had a pool.

I loved the decor and character of this hotel. Staff were extremely nice and helpful, too.
I liked the restaurant, the food was delicious, but be prepared to spend some serious $$.

Gorgeous older hotel. Built in 1924. Beautiful decor. Restaurant with excellent, but expensive food. Portions are large, I had the appetizer serving of Shrimp and Grits and it was plenty. They have turn-down service with what appears to be handmade chocolates. Valet parking is $14.00. I really enjoyed staying in this hotel and would definitely stay here again.
