The location is great, the rooms are absolutely clean, without the usual smell in hotels. Wonderful beds too. Staff is sincerely warm and eager to help. Coffee and chocolate is available at the last floor.
The only thing is the absence of a really good breakfast, but there's a lot of opportunities very near the hotel, or even if you do it yourself (there's a microwave oven in each room)

A wonderful hotel, very well located. It's really worth the price.

Beautiful quiet rooms. Great location close to Union Square activities.
Nope!

Quiet place to stay. Very clean and well kept. Big rooms with windows that open, for those of us who like fresh air. Short walk to Union Square, close to public transit. The staff was friendly and helpful. On-site parking for an extra fee, but worth it! Loved my stay, and will definately stay again!

location and huge room with many ammenities
Very very noisy!! Windows and walls are think like paper - no noise isolation at all - we couldn't sleep all night long (emptying trash boxes as 4am, trucks in street etc.)

Room was spacious and modern. Hotel staff was exceptional and responsive.
There is nothing, I did not find to be outstanding about this hotel.

Friendly and attentive staff. Superb housekeeping. Spacious modern room with excellent in room kitchenette. Centrally located close to public transportation. Best 'home away from home' experience I've had.

The Donatello is an excellent hotel, right in the heart of San Francisco.

front desk was unsympathetic to an outside noise problem that occurred every moutning 6am-8am

Very nice hotel, great location, but one block from a boycott that has been going on for months with people shouting in loudspeakers every morning 6am-8am
