Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Drake Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

At first the hotel had us booked for two twin beds. Not ideal given the romantic nature of the trip. However, they moved us into a queen bed room that was available. So in the end it was perfect. Well, almost perfect. A king bed would have been perfect.
Nope. Liked it all.

The room was excellent with a lake view. We liked the service which was very good and they just couldn't do enough for you! It was top drawer.
No, the perfect weekend. It was well situated for shopping, theatre and site seeing.

Good access to the stores, theatre, recreational aspects and easy to find.

Location.
Security knocked on our door at 11:45 to tell us to be quiet. The knocking scared us (phone call would have been more appropriate). Furthermore, calling security based on noise from two grown women merely talking, seems excessive and disappointing.

The hotel is in a great location and has a friendly and helpful staff.
There wome noise from the hallway. Our room was in the back without much of a view.

This is an old hotel with a lot of atmosphere. The location is great.

Only complaint would be parking. Street parking was $4 an hour and the garage was $40 a night but that's the city life.

The room exceeded my expectations! It was an amazing suite and I got a great deal on it. This is my second time at the Drake and it hasn't let me down yet!

The location was critical for us as we were attending my father-in-law's funeral and The Drake is across the streetr from his apartment. The Cap Cod Room was as good as always, the public spaces are lovely.
Yes - there were dirty socks in our room and the shower was unusable for my husband who is 6' tall - it barely worked for me and I am only 5'1". The alarm clock had not been changed for daylight savings time and there was no clock adjustment.

The security of our room was minimal - it never felt as if the door was secured except for the chain bolt. The refrigerator door did not close securely and it was impossible to keep things cold. Other than the location and the lobby this was definitely not worth what we paid for it - even on Priceline.

The piano bar was awesome.
I went to the drake for my birthday with my girlfriend. We arrived a couple hours late but when we arrive they told us they didnt have a room ready for me. So I had to wait another couple hours for our roon to be ready. We had to push our dinner plans.

Location was perfect. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable, a bit larger than I expected even. The closet was very nice and convenient.
Upon check in there were drawbacks for booking 3rd party that were pointed out. However, I was still granted the "welcome" package for my rewards status, which was a plus.

Classic Chicago Hotel, north of the magnificent mile, makes it easy to make it to the northern neighborhoods without having to drive through a ton of traffic. Room was spacious enough, and well appointed.

Great location and the staff were awesome as usual.
The rooms although quite nice are beginning to show some age.

Great location, walking distance to numerous 5 star restaurants, great views of the lake and Michigan Avenue, the staff are always pleasant and helpful. The only downside is the fact that the rooms are beginning to show some age, i.e. they are in need of an update.
