Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Driskill
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.January 12, 2013

Large room that was clean. The furnishings are a bit old and are pretty close to requiring replacement. Hotel needs to be aired out. Parking is expensive. But it was nice and felt historical. I liked the atmosphere.

Was happy to visit hotel for architectural features. Booked two rooms for our party. Check in staff tried to switch our second room guests to "less than" room. They corrected when we objected. Bar/ restaurant were great. Would visit again, but probably not book room. Parking/ taxes added another $100 to room cost.

If you are looking for something within walking distance to a lot of the heart of Austin then this is your place. It is a beautiful building but the rooms aren't anything special for the price. I recommend hanging out in the bar durning happy hour and trying several of their gourmet appetizers!

Would not really categorize this hotel (for quality of rooms/amenities)any better than 3 star hotels, I've stayed at. Only reason, I gave 3.5 is because it had a very nice public lounge on second floor which had live music. I did not try their restaurant.
