Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Driskill

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

the largeness of the front lobby and that there is a bar on site
The severe stuffiness, like the interior of the hotel hasn't been exposed to outside air in literally decades.

Large room that was clean. The furnishings are a bit old and are pretty close to requiring replacement. Hotel needs to be aired out. Parking is expensive. But it was nice and felt historical. I liked the atmosphere.

The location and atmosphere of the hotel was amazing. The food and bar service was exceptional. The only thing that was a downside there was no microwave or coffee maker in your room. It made it impossible for leftovers or morning brew in your own room.

Wonderful architecture ! 1886 bldg kept in tip top shape
rooms not designed for comfort or functionality but as historical place to visit

Was happy to visit hotel for architectural features. Booked two rooms for our party. Check in staff tried to switch our second room guests to "less than" room. They corrected when we objected. Bar/ restaurant were great. Would visit again, but probably not book room. Parking/ taxes added another $100 to room cost.

The location is incredible. The in house bar was fantastic. The bartenders were incredible. They were the only staff who treated us with with respect or acknowledged us at all.
I booked a specific room and had that i believed was a proper confirmation. When I arrived at the hotel they said the terminology used by Priceline wasn't the same as theirs so I got a much smaller room for way more than if I had just gone directly to the

If you are looking for something within walking distance to a lot of the heart of Austin then this is your place. It is a beautiful building but the rooms aren't anything special for the price. I recommend hanging out in the bar durning happy hour and trying several of their gourmet appetizers!

The smallest hotel room I have ever been in, but it wasn't uncomfortable.

Parking and getting into the hotel.

Clean and I enjoyed reading the history, it is a land mark in the city of Austin.

Location.
Did not offer free breakfast buffet. Had to use valet parking, because no parking nearby.

Would not really categorize this hotel (for quality of rooms/amenities)any better than 3 star hotels, I've stayed at. Only reason, I gave 3.5 is because it had a very nice public lounge on second floor which had live music. I did not try their restaurant.
